The Shaggs: The Motion Picture
You’ll regret not getting an AOTM to sell on
I know it’s not their best, but I have love for Muse Sick n Hour Mess Age
it has a sick cover too
Awesome cover. Good tunes. They were being passed over by the media in that period but I think and are still a force live. I gave a friend a copy of To Pimp A Butterfly and asked him what he thought of it. His response was ‘It’s good but would be better if Flavour Flav came on to throw his bit in every now and then.’
Now OBVIOUSLY I don’t think that myself BUT the balance of Chuck and Flavor was unmatched and those P.E. albums would not be as effective with him interrupting Chuck’s cerebral diatribes with his raps about crisps and ‘Yeeeeaaah booooiii’ catchphrases. He was definitely the spoonful of sugar that helped the medicine go down.
There was also the visual spectacle of the S1Ws who I always thought were far more camp than menacing.
Actually really looking forward to these this month View attachment 13951

My favourite PE album has always been Apocalypse 91. Picked up a reissue on green vinyl a few months ago and it sounds pretty good. The reissue I have of It takes a Nation on the other hand is pretty good, a lot of surface noiseI've been hoping for a proper deluxe Public Enemy VMP reissue for two years now. It's a huge hole in my collection and it would be sick if they did something for the anniversary of that album. I've actually been holding off buying anything of theirs just to see if VMP comes out with something. Although I feel like Fear Of A Black Planet or It Takes A Nation would be in the Essentials track if they were able to get either of them.... But here's hoping. As far as I can tell most of the reissues of these are fine but nothing special...
Damn, your music taste is so unpredictable!!! There’s no obvious kind of era/style of hip-hop you like! I love it!Now that the second year of the RHH sub is done I thought I’d rank them. Would be interested in how others would rank them. I know a lot of people might think I’ve got Tical high and I get that it was already readily available but I reckon that’s a top ten all time hip hop record for me, and my third favourite Wu project after 36 Chambers and Supreme Clientele.
