Illadelph Halflife is my 4th favourite! I absolutely love the song “What They Do”! Such a vibe and Raphael Saadiq’s voice is so smooth and rich on that track!
You’re not alone. I prefer How I Got Over too. But that may be partially because I didn’t start taking hip-hop serious until I listened to that album. Totally changed my perception of rap music.
To me one of the most beautiful exposes of hip hop story telling ever is The Hypnotic. “I knew this girl name Alana with mad persona...” takes me away to a world every timeIlladelph Halflife is my 4th favourite! Summertime ‘06 would be an amazing pick! Like imagine if VMP did a Gatefold of that, with both discs as the pressing! As the whole album is under 1 hour, it would be nice 2xLP pressing! They would have to do like 8,000 copies though because it would sell out so quick if it was just limited to 5,000 copies, especially if you can do it as an add-on for only $23!

You think most people agree do you want more is their top two? I love it but I always thought the consensus top two was Illadelph and Things Fall Apart. Many seem to prefer Game Theory to Do You Want More as well, but they are very different.

i think that is more a question of what style of roots you want, the more classic jazzy raps of the first 3 to 4 records they made or the more ambitious and high energy tracks of phrenology
Is that so? I may be out of touch with the Kanye fandom, but I always assumed either his first or second album was generally regarded as his best?
