Vinyl Me Please Rap & Hip Hop

The way Storf is at times he probably thinks U God has the best wu discography we could be way off whens announcement Friday 😂😂😂🤷🏻‍♂️
I can’t wait until it’s something completely un-Wu related and then we go through the regular Thread MO. Initial disappointment, then acceptance, followed by a backlash, then a backlash to the initial backlash, finishing up with debate about which Wu related album will be ROTM for October.

wait october is supposed to have a wu tang related album.. does that mean we get 2 months of hip hop from VMP in Q4 because we know stankonia should be coming.

also i think the backlash and acceptance might be kinda different now since lets be honest part of the reason we accept R&HH ROTMs were that they were 23 bucks... at a price as high as 33 an album the idea of "ok its a lesser album but i'll take it" is out of the question... we need more A tier and less C tier (or F tier if its pro tools)

No i don't believe you are meant to take that literally here dukey. Wont be two wu releases in a row.

Not that I am aware of. I was making light of the fact that like the last few months we have convinced ourselves at some point That a Wu-Tang solo album was gonna be the pick and then were wrong.

To each their own....but have you listened to Pro Tools? It's not a classic but it's pretty good and certainly not "f-tier".
Is “f” the bottom tier, as in Failing? Or do the tiers run the length of the alphabet. Is there a “z” tier? Because if so, an “f” tier seems a bit high, I would probably put it at like an “L” tier give or take.

Lol....I think most people use the grade-system, rather than the whole alphabet; but who, knows. If your example, then, yes, middle of alphabet is about right.

Edit: also thinking about it more and to be accurate....do people really use lettered tiers to rate things? I feel like I never do. Like numbered tiers and maybe lettered classes/lists? But this is just splitting hairs.

I just really hope we get Ghostface Killah’s Fishscale 🐟⚖ as a store exclusive very soon! 🤞

I love Fishscale so much! For me, that album is just as good as Supreme Clientele! They are both 9.5/10 albums! 🔥🔥🔥
I don't know how hard it is for you to get in Aus or how it is now, but Fischscale wasn't difficult to find in good condition on Discogs for less than $30 a while back.

And for the love of god....if you say you just want it to get the "VMP treatment" (which, WTF is that - OBI strip, resealable bag, stencil, and the same pressing plant everyone uses, bad customer service?), then I am going to pray (and I don't believe in God so I will sink that low) so hard that it never sees a RP anywhere from anyone! So hard, man!

GZA’s Pro Tools would seriously be such a weak pick if that was the September Rap & Hip-Hop ROTM! It would further reinforce the fact that the rap & hip-hop ROTM track is VERY hit or miss!
I agree. I don't want to see it from VMP, since I wouldn't buy it on my own. But it's still a decent album. It's been in my digital library for years.

I want Fishscale to get the VMP treatment! What is the VMP treatment? Mainly it’s just a nice colour variant! Fishscale would also probably be pressed at GZ but will likely sound great! Just how like the VMP pressing of Mobb Deep’s The Infamous sounded better than the MOV pressing I had! The Hip-Hop ROTM’s this year have all been sounding excellent! 😊💯

Oh, yes, I forgot.....a color (silly me).

You brought this on yourself. I am currently mind-melding with the supreme being. I'm pulling out Hebrew prayers I haven't said since I was 13. I'm pretty sure I just said the prayer for the dead and for lighting the Hanukah candles. But suffice it to say....you will NEVER see Fishscale (I don't wanna brag....but my people are kinda the supreme clientele).

It is pretty decent overall but quite mediocre in my opinion. I feel like GZA lyrically and energy wise is the main letdown of Pro Tools. His energy doesn’t match a lot of the production on that album - it sounds very awkward!

Like what the hell is up with the chorus on ‘Short Race’ and GZA’s sleepy verse on that one. ‘0% Finance’ again sounds mismatched in terms of GZA’s delivery and the production! Sounds like he’s tripping over the beat and can’t keep up with it. ‘Life Is A Movie’ is even more mismatched and GZA again doesn’t sound right at all. And what is up that melodramatic chorus...so awkward! GZA’s Pro Tools is just as bad as 50 Cent’s Curtis lol

I love Liquid Swords so much and enjoy spinning that one. But I would’ve been happy if the R&HH ROTM pick was Legend of the Liquid Sword! That album is much more exciting and fresh. Pro Toole sounds really dated unfortunately.

The production on ‘Paper Plate’ however is something special! That beat is crazy good!
