Even keeping it in music, how many albums that are beloved now were torn apart upon release?Even The Shining was nominated for 2 Razzie awards.

Omg, I just looked and yes! The 1st and 2nd top ranked albums of all-time are both Radiohead albums....As someone who loves Radiohead, please do not trust a website who has three Radiohead albums in their list of the top ten albums of all time.
Speaking of...I watched Doctor Sleep the other day. Good movie.Even The Shining was nominated for 2 Razzie awards.
I mean, you can't force yourself to like an album. If you've genuinely given it a chance and not enjoyed it, that's one thing. But it's something else entirely when you've made up your mind it sucks before even bothering to listen to it for yourself.how do you listen to an album in full having the urge to pause it and do something else... thats my issue with liquid swords... i am supposed to albums in one piece because concepts and details and stuff that i would miss if i pause and end up forgetting something....
i had to listen to those first 3 songs fucking 20 times but i haven't heard the other 80 percent so it could be fucking amazing... but im sick of "when the MCs CAME"
Don’t refer to RateYourMusic ever again then to judge whether you think you’ll like an album, because I just looked, and GZA’s Liquid Swords is ranked #2 top album of 1995 and is in the top 100 albums of all-time in RateYourMusic! An album ranked #2 for 1995 on RateYourMusic is an album you don’t like!how do you listen to an album in full having the urge to pause it and do something else... thats my issue with liquid swords... i am supposed to albums in one piece because concepts and details and stuff that i would miss if i pause and end up forgetting something....

but then if i have to listen to every single album and try it then i will never be able to listen to everything good and i have something mentally wrong with me if i dont like a perfect 10 album (perfect 10 meaning everyone should like it and there should absolutely no urge to skip a single bit of it)I mean, you can't force yourself to like an album. then how do i figure out what albums are good..Don’t refer to RateYourMusic ever again then to judge whether you think you’ll like an album, because I just looked, and GZA’s Liquid Swords is ranked #2 top album of 1995 and is in the top 100 albums of all-time in RateYourMusic! Not only that but that top ten really speaks to the demographic that uses the site. In the top ten, there is only one album by a black artist and only 1/2 an album by a woman (Nico counts as part of The Velvet Underground, I guess). And the list is entirely rock except for TPAB.Omg, I just looked at yes! The 1st and 2nd top ranked albums of all-time are both Radiohead albums....
Then the 3rd and 4th top ranked albums of all-time are both Pink Floyd albums....
I love Radiohead and Pink Floyd but that is a joke...the fact that the top 4 is held by onlytwo bands!
Also the top highest rated hip-hop albums of all time on there are
1. Kendrick Lamar - TPAB
2. Kanye West - MBDTF
3. Kendrick Lamar - GKMC
Like.....what a joke!
Awwwww you love music so much, and have such a cool passion at such a young age! I think that’s special and something to be very happy with; it’s priceless!then how do i figure out what albums are good..
i want to be happy
i am lonely
You don’t have to listen to all music. I’m gonna end my life without having heard some fantastic music. But if that’s my biggest worry, then life well lived!but then if i have to listen to every single album and try it then i will never be able to listen to everything good and i have something mentally wrong with me if i dont like a perfect 10 album (perfect 10 meaning everyone should like it and there should absolutely no urge to skip a single bit of it)
It's impossible to listen to every album ever made, music is endless and that's the beauty of it, there's always new music to discover and new sounds to explore. It doesn't matter if a critic gave an album a 10 or a 0, music is music, and music is among the most subjective art forms there is. If someone tries to guilt trip you for not liking a critically praised album, that reflects more poorly on them than you. There's tons of beloved albums and artists I don't enjoy, and if someone tries to shame me into loving the entire Bob Dylan discography, it's not going to work. You can't force yourself to love music based on arbitrary scores and numbers, that's taking so much of the joy out of music.but then if i have to listen to every single album and try it then i will never be able to listen to everything good and i have something mentally wrong with me if i dont like a perfect 10 album (perfect 10 meaning everyone should like it and there should absolutely no urge to skip a single bit of it)
It’s all what you want to do in the end and how you feel! I don’t use RateYourMusic but skimming through it, I think it looks like a great site for discovering music! But like @gaporter said, it seems to be very biased with what demographic uses it!ok i get it i made a fuck up by mentioning a bad site for judging an album even though i like using it
loving the entire Bob Dylan discography
About that...perfect 10 meaning everyone should like it and there should absolutely no urge to skip a single bit of it)
There's nothing wrong with looking at reviews and scores by itself, just don't put a lot of weight into them. If you like using the site, then use it, but just because an album has a low RYM rating just means that specific crowd doesn't like it, you might not share the popular opinion; you may listen to it and discover a hidden gem!ok i get it i made a fuck up by mentioning a bad site for judging an album even though i like using it
i felt shamed for kinda liking john mayer and not liking jack white and his overly retro generic rock.... i have this urge to conform because im so desperate to like everything everyone else likes and thus i have emotional issuesIt's impossible to listen to every album ever made, music is endless and that's the beauty of it, there's always new music to discover and new sounds to explore. Captain Beefheart and His Magic Band: Trout Mask Replica
Captain Beefheart’s 1969 masterpiece set an unmatched standard for avant-rock. This new reissue from Third Man puts it back in print on vinyl.www.google.com
