Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

Honestly if I were you I would just put him on ignore. I caught the brunt of one of his rants and almost quit this forum for good, but I realized there’s way too many cool people on here to let some arguments from one person keep me away for good.
I don't ignore anyone, and don't even read his 6+ paragraph rants. I never even supported Amazon, just asked a simple question of why someone would hate them. It's just strange to me to profess such a hate for amazon but give your money to another major corporation (VMP) that seems just as "evil big corporation".

If you think VMP and Amazon are on the same level of evilness, I don't know what to tell ya...

I’ve worked part time for Amazon for some extra Xmas money and it wasn’t too bad. I thought Fedex was much more grueling.
You worked in a warehouse basement with no heat or air The trucks would would literally back up and and dump all the shit in it down a ramp and you had to catch the boxes, you had no idea if it was a pillow or a bowling ball. Sometimes they would get jammed and you had to climb the ramp unjam it and roll down with an avalanche of boxes.

Yeah ones a shitry little vinyl company run by shitty people, the other is a massive tax
avoiding evil corp whose employment practices are shocking.
I hated working at the Amazon warehouse! They expected so much from us! I couldn’t take safety seriously there because I was always in a rush to try and meet my picking daily target. And there was always 6 security guards walking around the warehouse, it was the worst! Pretty cool that you have nearly 100 people in the warehouse though and that you just pass so many different faces, but still......NEVER AGAIN! ❌🙅‍♂️

No, I don't. I just find it funny that people have a scale of shittiness that they will accept. It's just like the argument "well not all cops are bad" when in fact, they are. Since the "good cops" look the other way while the bad cops do bad things.

So you agree they are both shitty, just one more than the other.

I've actually heard the exact same sentiment from multiple people. USPS isn't much better, but hey it's more convenient to say fuck Amazon than it is to say fuck FedEx or USPS. In fact, I know someone that works at the local hub and loves her job. Wouldn't trade it for the world.

AFAIK no one forced you to work there right? You aren't forced to go back there and work even though you say never again? Maybe if enough people said "fuck you" they would change. Most big corporations put profit over people if the people working for them keep working for them. That's just the reality of a capitalistic society. It's crazy to me to pretend like that doesn't exist.

No you are Incorrect, you guys must not get the amazon commercials there that show how working for Amazon is super fun and not evil at all.

Oh yeah we do. Apparently someone called Debbie makes super tasty cakes and that makes zero hour contracts with no guaranteed minimum hours, targets that can’t be met whilst operating safely and their tax avoidance, which is on an industrial scale, ok.

As Gordon Ramsey would say fuck the lot of em.
But I’m stronger than I am smart so I’m stuck doing Ox work for extra spending money.

Of course not! I got fired anyway because my performance wasn’t strong enough. I could keep up with the daily targets, but just lost motivation because I didn’t like the job and was like “fuck it”! ✌️

I guess because I got fired, I can’t go back. But in general, if I don’t like a job and leave, I will never go back. I’ll just get another warehousing/factory job! 🤷‍♂️

Yeah, I understand how businesses need to put money over people, but at least make it fun for me. If you’re gonna make me work like a dog, let me have and blast my Bose Bluetooth Speaker whilst I’m picking with my pallet jack! So yeah, I can work like a dog, but let me listen to my music! 😂

Oh, I totally agree but if there's enough people willing to work under those conditions what motivation does a corporation have to change? Most corporations are in the business of making money, not making people feel good about themselves.
