Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

Just not a fan of this dude writing paragraphs putting me down because he doesn't agree with my opinion. Fuck, he is talking so much about me while having me on ignore.
He’s not putting you down in my opinion! But I can’t give my opinion or get involved because I’m a baby monster who doesn’t like confrontation 🙈🐒🐣👾

Mmmmmm so true! I need to stop working as a labourer because most places, it’s like I’m treated as just a number! But I don’t mind that sometimes 🤷‍♂️

I want to work in a vinyl factory! Or I just want to work for a vinyl company. Like I absolutely love vinyl! I want a vinyl partner too! 😂

Again. There is nothing wrong with working an honest days work, there is dignity in work and dignity in labour. The laissez-faire capitalist trick of the last 30-40 years has been to convince themselves and society at large that this work is not worth fair pay and equitable employment conditions.

To me it reads that way because I didn't think VMP fucked up that much (I still dont). He believes I came here just to stir up shit, when that is far from the case. I just came to voice my opinion in a forum of fellow customers. He didn't like that and went on his little paragraph rants, which he is still doing about me, while having me on ignore. It's just strange.

But that's how you max profits in a capitalistic society. That's just reality, trying to pretend like it's not is odd to me.

Thank heavens you were only pump faking that you were leaving for sympathy like I suggested in my "rant." With you gone, who would be around to dismiss other members and complain that them having their own conversations about racial inequality between themselves -- something that felt really important to them -- is bumming out your experience talking about records made by people who experience it. I feel like my stance is pretty consistent: I believe that it's shitty to dismiss and silence people on a platform meant for everyone to have a voice. If someone calling you out for silencing others, makes YOU feel silenced, that's your own choice to leave rather than simply stop eye rolling, commenting, and poking at them for for speaking to each other. Instead, you made a point to let everyone know that you were going to be ignoring them -- instead of just doing it -- and then didn't. You just kept insulting them for having the discussion. When @Teeeee asked about if a company making a large portion of their money on the backs of work by people of color were going to speak up about the current social movements surrounding racial inequality, you responded that you want to know if they are going to donate to businesses being vandalized by looters. Any opportunity to redirect focus and victim blame. You have no sympathy. I have no sympathy.

That's why it adds an extra layer of irony to your suggestion to this dude about putting me on ignore, when I already had him on ignore to avoid this. A good question is why he is even trying to start another argument with me. What's not surprising is that you would, somehow, mutate me stating that I feel bad about using Amazon, as some form of instigation toward them. Somehow, it doesn't start when someone intentionally starts trying to agitate other people, but when someone pushes back and tells them to knock it off. It's passive aggressive, if not full on bullying behavior. You aren't a victim and he isn't a victim.

This guy has a documented history of admittedly trying to stir shit up on here. He swarmed reddit with nothing but posts claiming that he was only there to troll everybody. "Love the downvotes! I want them! I'm actually just trying to see how many downvotes I can get! I'm trying to get them!" Everyone started ignoring him and downvoting his posts through the ground, so he popped up here and did the exact same thing, admitting that he was only here to troll people. You're actually telling someone who proudly built their entire identity on the idea of being a troll to not let others get to him. "There there. You just keep trolling and don't let others tell you anything different. I also know what it's like to have someone tell you that you shouldn't act like an insensitive jerk to people." No matter how you want to slice it, I actually care about this place and the people in it. I didn't just show up with the sole intention of trying to poison the community like they did. I'm sure reviews on my success would vary, but this guy literally expressed that his intentions were to do just that.

But that's you're boy. Cool team.

I was honestly hoping I was already on his ignore list but cool another long ridiculous psychopathic rant . Like I said I left but I missed the majorly of the people here and did not feel I should leave permanently because of one argument that I apologized and tried to explain.

I’m really glad we can just ignore each other from this point forward.

Mmmmmmm that last sentence is so true! The attitude has always been to toughen up! I’ve always kept up with those heavy load/fast-paced production line jobs and have done really rough jobs and have survived, but that’s only because I’d travel so frequently. Now that I’m not travelling, I couldn’t survive at those places because I’m not as motivated.

Again, employment conditions aren’t the best, and I know this sounds bad, but I guess it’s just the way it is. Like it’s not completely bad. I know in other jobs/countries, it’s so much more worse. Like in Qatar for example, it’s like slavery over there. Still, it would be better if they saw us labourers as more classy and caring though because the toilets are yucky and most places are just so careless when it comes to lifting heavy things etc

There will always be people willing to work under those conditions. Most of the Amazon warehouse workers (Like 75%-85%) were migrants who are so grateful to have a job and are receiving a great hourly rate! It’s pretty devastating but it’s like that with those harsh warehousing/factory jobs! Whenever it’s mostly migrants, they get taken advantage of and are treated like shit! But they still are happy to have a job and earn that money! 💵

And then you have really bubbly, friendly, fun, welcoming Aussies like me who a lot of the times are seen as a threat because there’s a higher chance someone like me will speak up and say this is unacceptable. I’ve been fired because before because I’m well-spoken/strong worker and because the managers are a bit scared that I’ll influence the workers mentality etc 😔

So yeah, it’s a bit complicated! So evil! Most places aren’t like this of course, but Amazon and others I worked at are, or have that vibe!

Sad but common.

When I was about 8 or 19, I worked a temp job that placed me in the Starbucks distribution plant out here over the holidays. Pretty sweet, huh? We get both of these companies in the area. I started to notice that the immigrants that I worked with were getting fucked over. It started when something was wrong with one of my paychecks, but when I asked around, I was clearly in the best shape. Other people were telling me that they'd work 6 or 7 days a week and get paid less than when they'd work 5. Their checks weren't adding up. I was a slacker -- I was even known to do wack shit like take pulls off the ready whip cans in the lunchroom -- but these other people really busted their asses. They couldn't just leave, because, on top of their own bills, they were constantly sending money back to their families in their own countries. I asked the temp company what was up with my check, and they chose to call and leave me a condescending message on my voicemail -- this was way back, before I, or most people, even had a cell phone. They intentionally left some shitty message, knowing I was at work. So, I called them back and left them a nice message of my own, pointing that out and, basically, threatening to have them audited. Magically, they worked out my missing funds!! Starbucks wanted to hire me on as an official employee, but I said fuck it, and I called the IRS anyway. Like you were saying, I could afford to lose my job and leave. These people couldn't. They were in a bind and getting exploited for it.

I know it was a typo and that you meant 18 but I can’t help imagining a poor 8 year old @Dead C working packing coffee in a warehouse that resembles a latter day Dickensian scene...

Mmmmmm I know all about that! That’s why some jobs in labouring won’t take someone like me, because I’m not a migrant. I’m not silly, like I know that some companies make sure that they ask the job agencies “make sure you don’t give us any Aussies”! It’s so messed up, I know! But what can you do. It’s unfair for the migrants, it really is! And most of them are so lovely too and have the nicest smiles! And I love it when I tell them that I’ve been to Afghanistan or Pakistan etc! They’re so cute!

It is very possible to state your opinion without being: demeaning, argumentative, or resorting to personal attacks.

You should try it. Maybe then we won’t have threads that turn into such a complete dumpster fire.

Also, to ignore someone’s entire logical argument and then say “didn’t read, get a life” puts you in the same boat as those who have no defense for a structured argument so they just subvert the point being made and resort to personal attacks and fallacious arguments. You would be a horrible attorney and I’m guessing, also not much fun to be around in the aforementioned pub.

Omg, I can’t wait! I’m going to give you the biggest hug and will squeeze you so hard! 🤗🧸
Honestly I had a rough few weeks and missed your optimism. There’s quite a few people on this forum that I legitimately missed in here.Maybe me and that dead dude will come to an understanding at some point , but for now I’m content to just peacefully hang out with everyone else if that’s cool
With y’all
