Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

So I rejoined VMP a day early to make sure I got Sahara and the Jonathan Richman exclusive. They tried to give me Albert King too, as I joined early, but I said no thanks, so instead I have credits (which is fine by me).

So jazzbos, I ordered Ambrose Akinmusire, but if I can only have one more jazz exclusive, what should I go with?

Walter Bishop - Coral Keys (This is what I'm leaning towards, although I have a lot of post-bop albums similar to this.)

Thelonious Monk - Palo Alto (Do I need another Monk live album? NM. Sold out)

Shabaka Hutchings (Great album, but it doesn't do anything special for me)

Sonny Sharok - Ask the Ages (Ltd to 2000?? This is a great album, and a true exclusive?!, but with that many pressed, and the fact it's free jazz, this is destined for the sale section in a couple months.)

Harold Alexander - Sunshine Man (Seems better as a sample than an album)

Sun Ra - Celestial Love (Interesting album, but not exactly prime Sun Ra)

Chet Baker - Mr. B (Seems good, but do I really need late period Chet Baker?)

Erroll Garner - Magician (I have enough Trad Piano jazz, but talk me into it?)

Save my credits (LMAO)
Mr. B imo.

Where did you get your figures on how how many units Spiritualized sold. I'm sure they are right just intrigued, I remember when it came it out in the UK and was a big seller and marketed heavily, I think it charted in the top 5 album sales. At that that time CD's reigned, I wouldn't know how many vinyl units sold, but it was before digital music had taken off so I would have that CD sales would have been big.

I'm also assuming it wasn't a big seller outside of the UK.

Wikipedia. But the number makes sense compared to the hype then and peers for later records (Mercury Rev Deserter’s Songs/Flaming Lips Soft Bulletin)

I wouldn’t write off Mr B. Chet was solid for most of his career. I got it through BullMoose the other week and it’s great. Walter Bishop is a great record but will be available outside VMP it seems. Sharrock might be a true exclusive? Shabaka you can get for $20 elsewhere.

The Wax Buyers Club version of Skull Session is now on discogs, and the vinyl mix looks real pretty. I'm hopeful the VMP variant will be equally kickass, and not be like what happened with The National.

OMG I NEED THIS VMP EXCLUSIVE!!! 😩

Like, why did I have to miss out on the Oliver Nelson and the Freddie Gibbs x The Alchemist exclusives! They are both incredible albums and the VMP exclusives for them both look unreal! Like they are next level colour variants! 💎🙉🍭🏆

I am gonna be on the hunt for both those exclusives quick! Like when either of them get put on Discogs for USD$50 + shipping, I’m purchasing it straight away! 👀💨 🙋‍♂️

It sounds more than great. This Wax Buyers Club release is one the greatest we've made.

How're you going with curbing the vinyl spending?

John Mayer.

Curation at its finest. We can't live without this sincere curation. Save this company at all costs!

This is gonna go down as my most favorite curation since tennis. Please tell me you are getting a ship log of how hard life is for john. Or at least a secret 7" of Your Body Is a Wonderland.

John mayer. Lol.

The colour variant you guys did looks incredible! 💎✨ I’m actually going to look into signing up to Wax Buyers Club because the club looks amazing just from casually browsing the website! 😍🙋‍♂️

I was just listening to the Henri Texier Varech pressing that I got from them the other day. Wax Buyers Club did a great job with that. If you haven't checked that out, I know that @Edd still has copies of it on Discogs
