Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

So far I have 4 albums coming in two boxes (still waiting for tracking on Courtney Marie Andrews, Ali Farka Toure and Harold Alexander). Did USPS stop providing estimated delivery dates?

Usps delivery estimates and delivery times have been FUBAR'd for months. I've had stuff take weeks more than their estimate, I've had stuff marked delivered not show up for weeks after the "delivery" date, it's been a clusterfuck.

For sure, but this is the first time I've noticed that they are not even giving me an ETA

Pressed at QRP has my attention. I think these will be really expensive unfortunately.

And I see that it's only available to people who buy and register the new Marantz gear.
I'm sure we'll see it for sale later, but I'm not downgrading gear to get this, lol. Not knocking that gear, but that isn't stuff that I need.
Yeah no way they went to all that trouble just to press 50 of them. But I bet they're gunna cost $60.00.

Honestly, if it's $60 for both I'm all in. 4 disk QRP pressings, hopefully with some actual thought towards the sound quality.
My gut tells me though that it's going to be more like $60 per volume, $120 for both. Which I will probably not bite in that case. Not sure what my limit will be on these... hence the need for a playlist to see how the track selection holds up.

I’m just happy to see that another manufacturer is making a network/SACD player (and a quality name like Marantz). I’ve been eyeing to get the Technics SL-G700 which is about $500 more but when I wake up tomorrow I’m def gonna read up on this and give it a hard look/comparison.

Yeah that's what I meant $60 per 2 LP.

It's not a bad looking unit by any stretch, and I think they hit a nice price point for the combo.
Personally, I would want separates. I think you can find a DAC that sounds great and can last for a decade. But keeping up with streaming platforms and software updates... I think that's going to be harder.

I have been saying for years that Smart TV's a ticking time bombs till they become extra dumb TVs. Your TVs general TV tech will last for years on end. We're on the verge of adding a Roku or something like that to our bedroom TV because the "smart" functionality has become so painfully slow and clunky over the years. Just like cell phones and computers - the hardware usually well outlives the software.

I bring that up, because I think in 5-7 years there are going to be a lot people running these combo units that have a great DAC & SACD player, but they are selling them off or buying external streamers because the company didn't keep up with software updates.

Agreed on the tv, I run only projectors and none of them are integrated, so there's no concern with apps, I get everything I need through my Apple TV or cable box.
