Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

I listened to my Donald Byrd - Places and Spaces today which is probably my best sounding Classics BN (I only have three thus far) - After this I played the Top Shelf The 3 Pieces - Vibes of Truth which sounds better and Funk, Inc s/t which wasn't quite as good as the Byrd. I think the Funk, Inc was the least impressive sounding of the bunch, so I'd put them in the between Classics right at Tone Poet category. They are really nice pressings and packages.
I don't know if Donald Byrd's my best sounding, but it's pretty legit. Great album.

Aretha and The Meters Fire on the Bayou arrived today....of course with massive seam splits and huge dents in the packaging.

But I do have to give CS props... Within 5 minutes of emailing my issue, got an email back from Yash at CS and a confirmation for a new order for full replacements.

I'd love tk take The Meters off your hands when your replacement comes if you don't already have a plan for it

I'm not familiar with Anderson but I love most of these artists and I have store credit. Anyone have thoughts? I also just read this, which I think is pretty cool:

Dan Auerbach adds, "We weren’t trying to piddle around and make the normal tribute record. It had to be the best singers with the best songs and the best arrangements, and they had to come into the studio. This wasn’t like, ‘Mail me the song, and we’ll put it together.’ I think it makes this record unique. I don’t think most tribute records are done like this. I think that's why it sounds like a cohesive album. It feels like an amazing mix tape."

Looks pretty cool! For non-members, non-VMP releases (including a different color variation) are around $25+shipping.

Here's one song from it:

or a "low dog blue" version at other retailers for $25 which seems to be the indie variant

Really great track list and artist list, but I can never justify buying tribute albums or comps because I just don't listen to them

This dude just doesn't give up...

Oh I know, I've been periodically deleting them. Then he just copies and pastes them back. But knowing that he's checking like, hourly to make sure I haven't deleted them before he immediately pastes them back makes it even better. I just sent in notice to delete a few more after leaving them for a week. He's going to have to keep checking hourly for the next couple of years, this is what I do while I'm eating breakfast...
