Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

Yeah and that’s probably largely the problem for me. No interest in jazz and I know what I want from soul. The store used to be much wider now it’s just really narrowly focused. The lack of complimentary releases for the AoTMs is really sad too.
I imagine part of that is licensing is getting more expensive for the great titles so have to dig a bit deeper. Agree that the lack of complimentary releases has been a bit of a bummer. Out of 4 tracks I’m lucky if one or two are records I’d actually want anymore especially for the price.

The true store exclusives are what I like but usually only 2-3 per year anymore. I ordered the Elton John Honky Chateau exclusive today since it’s the only AAA RKS cut apparently. Aretha and The Meters were great too. And Yusef Lateef. But that’s about it in the past year and a half. The Sparklehorse box is also really awesome. Still surprised they got that and it hasn’t been released anywhere else

I thought it had extra stuff in a book. I don't remember
It had a little comic book I think. But everything about the pressing was the same as the generic one. Never really understood why people were willing to pay an lot for it outside of superfans who really wanted the extra comic.

Also surely their license has lapsed by now and since they don’t own the plates, can’t imagine them getting the rights to it again for cheap.

To be fair, i assume it’s a Shopify limitation and they aren’t just doing it for the hell of it
Possibly.if I had to guess it’s a function of ensuring it doesn’t use credit as a default for preferred payment on every transaction.

Yea maybe 😂. Was gonna say it seems more like a headache to have to have CS manually change it to a different type of credit but that also sounds like something they wouldn’t consider…

Yeah I don’t think they worry about that at all. Overworked or malfunctioning customer service with them had in the past tended to be resolved or fixed by knee jerk reactions or sticking plasters, like the time the whole office got on the tickets despite it not being their job. Once the shop is working to sell stuff they’re gunna let CS do manual work arounds before getting shopify back in to fix stuff, like with the years of no bundling upon adopting Shopify that bundled shipping they did before adopting it.
