Thanks...not sure if I'm going to upgrade my Kacey or Soul Asylum but good to know it's a good pressing! Is actually really solid. I've only given one spin, but didn't notice any issues.

I really like the Young Fathers record. Cut by Matt Colton. I got the white vinyl color variant from Plaidroom instead since it was cheaper than VMP.Cmooooon Young Father's in swaps... big bucks big bucks no whammies no whammies
How's it sound? I find the high res is hit and miss in terms of mastering/recording quality. Curious how the vinyl turned out.I really like the Young Fathers record. Cut by Matt Colton. I got the white vinyl color variant from Plaidroom instead since it was cheaper than VMP.
thanks for reminding me to cancel my sub. When this month’s picks were announced I was considering all four, cut forward to the price rises and I’m getting none. The bloom is certainly off the rose now, for many (soon to be former) members.
I think the vinyl sounds solid. It’s a quiet sounding press and MPO did a nice job on it. Need to listen to it at a louder volume but been tricky to do so with the in-laws in town and the little kiddo. I’ll have to compare it to the stream but on first listen didn’t think it was wildly different to the high res stream. The overall mastering still has some of that distortion on some of the instruments but it seems purposeful. How's it sound? I find the high res is hit and miss in terms of mastering/recording quality. That TVOTR is EXACTLY why I like it. I'm dying for something new from them, and this is kinda filling that space for me. Thanks for the mini review, the only reason I'm going VMP is I have credits. Really like the two tracks from the new Yves Tumor release as well so I think I might also grab that one. Reminds me a bit of Bloc Party.I think the vinyl sounds solid. I really like the album overall. It reminds me a bit of TVOTR. Need to go listen to their older stuff.
Yea it’s such a cool album and I do think I’ll spin it a lot. I gotta check out that new Yves Tumor and probably get a copy of Heaven To A Tortured Mind on vinyl. Didn’t one of the members of TVOTR die? I’d be kinda surprised if they ever release a new album sadly. They were one of my favorite bands in college. Saw them play at the Brooklyn Masonic Temple and it was an incredible show
Yeah he died after the second album I think? So that's not the reason they stopped. I mean hell I'd even take solo albums, ANYTHING.Yea it’s such a cool album and I do think I’ll spin it a lot. You know what, I can't remember if I listened to that one, it came out during TVOTR and I just wasn't really looking at the time. I'll check tonight. You on to Rain Machine? I fucking love that album.
I feel like every few years there’s an album that reminds me of TVOTR. Yves Tumor reminded me of them and now Young Fathers. agree though I’d love anything new by TVOTR.Yeah he died after the second album I think? So that's not the reason they stopped. EDIT- nope I'm wrong. 2011 same year as 4th and then they released a 5th 3 years later. Then nothing but they haven't officially broken up either.
I saw them twice on his last tour, when they were on the road with Broken Social Scene. I was surprised they did anything after. They had such great chemistry together as band. But I'd love another too.Yeah he died after the second album I think? So that's not the reason they stopped. I mean hell I'd even take solo albums, ANYTHING.

Speaking of TVOTR, Either of you familiar with Kyp Malone’s side project Rain Machine? I wasn’t until tonight, I was looking through my local recent arrivals used Section online and came across it. Looks like he released a single self-titled album in 2009. It’s really good, worth checking out especially if your looking for something to scratch that TVOTR itch. That TVOTR is EXACTLY why I like it. It’s weird how this stuff happens. It had a cool cover and was $14 for a 2xLP album so I figured I check it out and then I see you guys talking about TVOTR here. Kismet.Haha look right above my comment. @JonnyH is all over it.

I haven’t listened to it yet. Probably tomorrow or Saturday. Looks like it’s pressed and Rainbo if the Discogs is correct so my hopes aren’t too high for it sounding spectacular. Hopefully since it was 2009 maybe they had higher standards than towards the end. How's it sound? Good pressing?
