I’ve been happily away from VMP for a few years now but this offer is enticing. Problem is: if I have to pick 8 albums right away, will they offer enough over the next 12 months to keep me interested?

Looking through their current exclusives I see absolutely nothing of interest. Basically the only thing they put out that regularly interests me are the jazz titles on the Classics tracks. The more I think about it, the less I want to commit…

So I'm currently subbed with 8/1 as my renew date. I did some math and found that canceling now, getting my credits back, resubbing for 6months, then resubbing for a year maximizes the deal and gets me more for my money even at the newer price. It's worth crunching some numbers over.

i think since mine was feb 1 renewal, i could do a 6 month after then do a year long in november to get 12 free records.

in april or may, if you resub for a year, you'll pick 8 free records from the selections. i don't think VMParton is included in this deal.

can always swap for credit and pick up an anthology or something. miles anthology is coming out sometime in march apparently.

they say the coupon expires 12/31/23. obviously some albums will "sell out" by then so those are the "limited time offer".

I don’t do their anthologies, they are way overpriced. But I suppose the credit would remain in my account until I use it up, even if the subscription ends. Is that right?

also worth noting that with Kacey sold out, it would not make sense to cancel your sub this month and re-sign up if you picked up Kacey as you will not be able to re-add it due to it now being sold out.

yes credit doesn't expire. you can convert it later to membership credit or keep it as store credit.

some of the anthologies are worth the price IMO especially when they are on sale. but obviously depends on if you like most or all of the titles.

I was tempted to swap out Kacey thinking I'd eventually get back to it but now that it's sold out I guess I'll hang on to it.

Great deal but my luck is they would mark the “full value” of the 8 free records on the box and I would end up paying duty on some $320USD worth of records.

Would definitely do it if they just added the funds as credits instead.

I wasn't feeling Kristofferson this month so I swapped it for Kacey yesterday, apparently just in the nick of time.

i will say, i love that kristofferson record. but i found a $5 copy at my local and it sounds really good so didn't feel the need to "upgrade" it. well done on swapping for Kacey! I was tempted but realized it was mostly for FOMO reasons and I'm not a gigantic fan of the album.

and as a heads up, at least one more Kacey album will be coming from VMP later this year I think in the country track. Believe it's Golden Hour.

My sub ends 9/1 so I'll reconsider later on, but this shits so expensive now that there'd have to be 8 records I really really want to get me to resubscribe.
