Storf said on discord that the bar for soundtracks will be high. Not always this crazy but in that vein so I imagine Goonies will be worth the wait. If it's mondo packaging/artists and VMP (when done right) mastering it will be awesome

I will never understand this line of thinking. First don't yuck others yum. Second nobody is forcing anyone to spend money on it. Storf isn't going to steal your bank card and buy it without your consent. Third this is one of how many variants? More choice is always good. You want the insane packaging and extras for more money? Buy this. You want just the album? Go get just the for normal prices.

I think you have no idea about the Swiftee devotion. I mean they all already owns this anyhow and Black Pumas have at least twice as many variants. Outside of Bandbox and some smaller indie things, everyone seems to be making their dates these days.

I have no issue with them putting this set out, if you want to buy it, go for it. If you don't, don't. My only concern is that this appears to be the first VMPxMondo kinda release and I really hope this isn't the price point they're planning on using for these Mondo style soundtracks going forward.

If the bar truly is $160 soundtracks full of useless ephemera, I feel like this is going to be a short lived experiment. We have all been conditioned to expect $45-$75 Mondo soundtracks full of useless ephemera, if you are now doubling the price.... mmmyeaahhhh I DUNNO BUB

Or alternatively people will be all over this shit because their overwhelming need for completely pointless stuff is greater than their ability to rationally realise they’re about to spend $160 on a load of old toss.
And in the process they’ll normalise the price point so we’re all forced into it. Not unlike what’s happened with the general market. It used to be about listening to good tunes on a less than perfect (or efficient) medium. Now it seems like it’s become some fetishists wet dream with an internet full of fappers fapping madly over the next limited colour press while the old school listeners get priced out the market or have to buy bigger shelves to accommodate the additional shit that’s being shoved in a record box.
