Sivuca, yes. I almost pulled the trigger on it a few times when it was originally in stock. Sigur Ros maybe, I’m not too familiar with this exact album so I got to listen to it before deciding what to do with it.

Part of the appeal of the blind box isn’t just getting something you would’ve bought had you gotten the opportunity, it’s also discovering something you might not have ever heard otherwise. I went with international because I knew it was the least likely chance I’d get a dupe and then also have the potential to find a new artist/album I’d like. So I’m fine with what I got.

That other dude who got a $10 non-VMP record has every right to be pissed and should definitely email to complain.

I’m fine with discovery and mystery boxes in general.

I think this was a dumb way to deal with the “vault” records… especially given the amount of garbage I’ve seen posted on Discord.

I also think the price point (even for the damaged boxes) is insane.

Personally, I am not a fan of mystery boxes mainly because the chance of getting something I won’t enjoy or a duplicate creates more anxiety than anticipation. I also think they are a slick way for businesses to move records they have a tough time selling on their own.

Your last sentence is certainly true. I’m less likely to order a mystery box if I have quite a collection from whomever the company is.

Most places, the price is a bargain to help convince people to buy the albums… like 3 records for 25 or 30. As opposed to 2 for 60. Like I said, their prices were insane.

Aww, thanks @duke86fan that's really sweet. I was mostly excited about it at the price of a swap because that would be a stupid sweet deal, and wouldn carry on a good streak for me nabbing box sets. I think the price of shipping alone from you to me would be more than the price of a swap. I really do appreciate the thought though.
