I think at this point you probably understand the risk but if it were me, I would be requesting a cancel/refund. If they go belly up you won’t be getting a refund or a box set. Most of those albums are now in print and sound fantastic. If they ever do restock the title you could order the box set then but I wouldn’t want to be the one left holding the bag.

There's a new discord channel that sort of feels like a pre-made emergency exit ramp for if/when VMP goes belly-up. Basically kind of how Needles & Grooves came about. All the regulars are over there now.

So they shipped my Black Friday order (aka burn my last credits before VMP cancels me at the end of the month). Of course the AotM is not there so they will one last time ship two different packages separated by a few days.

I think at this point you probably understand the risk but if it were me, I would be requesting a cancel/refund. If they go belly up you won’t be getting a refund or a box set. Most of those albums are now in print and sound fantastic. If they ever do restock the title you could order the box set then but I wouldn’t want to be the one left holding the bag.

I’d do the same. If my outstanding orders weren’t paid for entirely with referral credit, I would have cancelled the ALS box, Toussaint and the Fela box by now. I’m not convinced that these things are going to be pressed or shipped. There’s just nothing in stock that I want either so may as well just stick to those preorders.

The dead one makes no sense to me. It was on the presses months ago. How has it not shipped? Only explanations are the sleeves aren’t done (which would be on brand for VMP to forget to order the sleeves) or they couldn’t pay to release the order yet from RTI.

I wouldn't be shocked if in 2025 they fold Classics and R&B/Jazz/etc into one "Recommended" track. They keep spending money for forward facing product, leaving less cash for unfulfilled commitment product. They likely have sold off as much old stock as they can at this point to raise added funds.

If they didn't have that boat anchor of old stuff to be fulfilled, they could probably survive releasing 2 ROTMs per month.

That Dead box is the last item that VMP needs to fulfill for me. My sub ends in January. I’m toying with canceling for good. Which is a shame but the 2025 q1 hints are not appealing enough for me to deal with these headaches.

There are PLENTY enough GREAT sounding Dead options for these titles. Waiting for VMP may end up being the equivalent of standing at the dock waiting for the Titanic to arrive.
