I don’t like this Sir Babygirl album much though. It’s boring to my ears. The music sounds polished yet simultaneously all over the place. The vocals in my opinion sound thin and a bit whiny, especially when she sings in her higher register. The only moment I liked on that album was the stripped back, sweet “Flirting with Her (Reprise)”.
I absolutely love the colour variant and I like that it’s only $20! Unfortunately I just don’t care for the album at all.
Be on the lookout, Storf said this:
Asked for you, will post his responseThanks for the heads up Anyone on reddit feel like asking Storf how the stock is looking on Yusef? Also curious about Angel and Sturgill but not as critical.

God damn it. That's why my box is taking so longSo pretty furious at VMP again. Just got off with Tyler who confirmed that Mariah isnt going out until friday and all boxes with that have been held up. Same exact thing that happened with Joel Ross despite Paul saying to me they learned that wasn't the right call. Couldnt even go one god damn month....

That's a shame... still haven't listened to mine - guess I better get on that (and lower my expectations). So my second Joel Ross is worse than the first copy, I gave up and took the credit. It's the worst package and pressing I've ever gotten from VMP. I advise against getting it if anyone is considering it.
Mine is Art and Sonny, hasn't shippedMine is only Art Blakey and it hasn't shipped yet...
As much as I love Blue Note, Motown, and Stax (and I really do), I dont like the idea of the first 3 anthologies being these. Storf said they put more side tracks on hold in favor of anthology as it lets them do the same thing with less of an overall commitment but instead what we're getting is essentially another Classics track marketed differently. Don't get me wrong I love classics, have every single release, and will be on board for all 3 of these box sets but I wish they'd show a little more diversity.
Motown is pretty much confirmed and Im pumped for that. And a Stax one down the line would be great, I just really hope they do something a little different before that.

Hey I mean Joe Harley (guy that does Tone Poet) claimed he has a clean black copy so maybe they do exist but both of my VMP copies are so terrible it's not worth continuing the search. Not to mention the cheapest gatefold possible combined with the cheapest sandpaper sleeves possible, I'll take my 33 bucks and get something else. That's a shame... still haven't listened to mine - guess I better get on that (and lower my expectations).
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!"New This Week" page shows a link to the new FKA Twigs but the link doesn't work yet. $26
So happy it’s limited to 1,000 copies! I can sleep and know I’ll get a copy"New This Week" page shows a link to the new FKA Twigs but the link doesn't work yet. $26
FKA says it's pressed at "lrp" does anyone know what that is? I can't think of a pressing plant that starts with "L".
Ah, I didn’t know his account was private. His post was a picture of a few books about Stax Records & Otis Redding, a book about Sam & Dave and a book about Donald “Duck” Dunn with just the caption “research”.
