Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

I’m 50/50 on the TP sale. I tend to like them and the price is reasonable, but in general I can’t get into mystery boxes.

I know I’ll end up with something from the Comedy Store.
i think certain ones will make sense. like the Dolly one--limited titles to get. Anthology is also probably a great one although you bring up a good point about Comedy Store...

This may be the best way to burn my remaining store credit, so I may go for a 5 pack of Store Exclusive TPs...

Wondering if this will get a wider releass

Presumably they’d go from the Czech republic to Canada, bypassing port tariffs
They go to the VMP warehouse and from there would go to any distributor. If GZ were capable of splitting an order and drop shipping (which I don't think they do), that would make things far too complicated for the dolts at VMP.

US tariffs on the EU would end VMP right? That'd make their product insanely expensive.
I imagine they would try to move to a US-based pressing plant. And it would be much easier to do so given they are only really pressing runs of 2,000 or less now.

They’re scaling back that much! Wow! They really did shit the bed didn’t they.
I think they were just massively over-pressing everything and being stuck with copies. they are doing less releases and lower numbers now it seems. they will also apparently do some open pre-orders like they did with D'Angelo then round up to have some more in stock in the store when the records arrive.

i think it's a smart move personally to avoid them being stuck with tons of stock that they can't move. they still sold tons of stuff like Joni, but over-pressed and still have copies. I think Bruce Springsteen was a MASSIVE overpress.

Oh yeah but the fact it’s a smart move really shows how much they fucked it. Even accounting for overpressing they were shifting many multiple of that every month.

well yea...your CEO funneling millions of dollars into his own pressing plant didn't help matters hah.

they also expanded way too much with way too many tracks forcing themselves to press even more. and in many cases large quantities of albums that didn't sell well.

I’ll be very interested to hear both sides of story and how it plays out in court. Well unless they settle first.

They also shat the bed with curation, it got very very poor for an extended period.

GZ has a plant in Nashville now.
