Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

Got a shipping notification for the in stock sale. I didn't use credit so hopefully a handful of people get their shit because of it. Not hopeful for the "ROTM" but I'll chargeback or just call it a $40 dollar loss, I honestly don't even care if I'm out the $40.

Given how quickly they're seemingly falling apart I genuinely can't believe I actually got my Grateful Dead Box. Fortunately I cancelled all of my other preorders months ago so I have nothing I'm waiting on.

I bought my turntable in mid 2018 and started up a VMP subscription shortly after and have been with them basically ever since. I kinda don't know what it's like to collect records without VMP. They definitely opened up my musical tastes and I have a bunch of records I had never heard of or wouldn't ever check out because of them. I even quoted a Jim Sullivan song in my father in laws eulogy last week that I would have never ever known about without VMP. Can't say I'll be "lost" without them, but I really enjoyed their record club while it lasted, especially in the better days.
Your Yeezy avatar lasted longer than VMP which given the state of Kanye is a feat unto itself.

I didn't fully go through with it, but I started inquiring about a chargeback for my dead box on my Apple Card, and the first thing they asked was if I had any communication with them regarding refunds or cancellation and if I hadn't to reach out immediately.

Just my 2c, if you have any aspirations of a chargeback just send an email and when you get zero response at least you have it on record that you "tried".

. No I haven't requested it yet. Haven't seen any reports of them refunding the membership
You will not get a membership refund. They offered that in February when they changed their subscription details. I told people they should take advantage of that if they had a long term sub…

You should cancel def jam immediately. That’s never happening.

@RHANDMJ supposedly ALS was pressing in March at RTI. That’s kinda the last thing I’m keeping hope alive for in terms of preorders. They did update the production calendar yesterday but it was all updates for color variants of wide releases. I’d bet that Matt and Tyler are left. And they have some outsourced human CS agents…but that’s probably it.

I thought you got your dead box? Or you just ordered another one?

If you ordered something recently, just check your card’s chargeback policy and see how long you have. IMO it’s wild to ask for a chargeback from something you purchased less than a week ago. And I’d be surprised if your credit card company granted it given VMP isn’t under yet. Email VMP for sure and if they don’t get back to you, then it’s good evidence for a chargeback.

If some of these exclusives are already pressed and manufacturers are waiting for VMP to pay before shipment (which will never happen), I wouldn't be surprised to see some of these exclusives included in the next Black Friday RSD or RSD next year.

I see that Young Thug's Barter 6 is an RSD Exclusive this year. What are the odds that this is the production that was supposed to be sold by VMP?

I would be surprised…because the plants legally are not allowed to sell those records because they don’t have the licenses for the music on them. And the labels don’t own the records because VMP owns them even if complete payment wasn’t made.

VMP will go under. The plants will have to turn over the records to whoever buys their assets in bankruptcy auction. And the plants won’t see more money after the bankruptcy because I’d imagine the debt to other creditors will be much higher than what they get at auction
