To be fair (and I’m definitely one to give VMP a fair share of criticism where its deserved), this is likely a Saddle Creek Fulfillment fuck up. One of the main issues that VMP has to fix to make fulfillment and shipping better is ditch that joke of a company.

Serious question: how does this happen? How does someone package 20+ copies of the same record without thinking that something might be fishy? I guess you could argue that they were just veering on the safe side of wanting to correctly fulfill the order no matter how crazy it seemed but of all times for VMP to take on a "the customer is always right" mentality, why now?

VMP would have to be staggeringly incompetent for this to have happened on the front end. If they didn't notice that they were missing payment for dozens of copies, that would be a surprise. Good news for those who missed out is if a lot of people are shorted, they may repress.

Either: adding it as a “bonus” to the 65k package; or claiming that the multiple records and delayed shipments aren’t happening because they didn’t happen to him...

The fact that the 25 records went to someone who ordered 5 - certainly a flipper - is really effing unfortunate. That a flipper has been rewarded for flipping sucks.

there is literally not one single person in that company of men-children that has a clue about management or logistics. They badly need some adults who make their lives a bit harder but ultimately make the company actually work.

I'm realistically not even sure what they could put out next year to make me have enough faith in them to give them my subscription dollars again.
Admittedly they got me back with the last three months but it's still very clear that they are nowhere near having their shit together or caring to get it together. Lots of other places I can spend my record buying dollars.
I've worked in inventory management for awhile and this latest, while humorous because of course, is also just symptomatic of their gross mismanagement of everything...
