What I'm guessing this effectively means is that if you receive a damaged, defective, warped, etc Mobb Deep you are shit out of luck for a replacement.
Serious question: how does this happen? How does someone package 20+ copies of the same record without thinking that something might be fishy? I guess you could argue that they were just veering on the safe side of wanting to correctly fulfill the order no matter how crazy it seemed but of all times for VMP to take on a "the customer is always right" mentality, why now?

The fact that the 25 records went to someone who ordered 5 - certainly a flipper - is really effing unfortunate. That a flipper has been rewarded for flipping sucks.
Non represented minimum wage workers don’t ask questions.
As someone on Reddit pointed out, there's a good chance whoever packed it did double or quadruple check the order. Guessing the order sent to the warehouse was wrong.Serious question: how does this happen? How does someone package 20+ copies of the same record without thinking that something might be fishy? yeah saddle creek used to be their whipping boys. I kind of figured out a while ago that whilst they aren’t perfect they were such an easy scapegoat for VMP. All this shit is on them not a bunch of underpaid warehouse workers.
Yeah a lot of times warehouse workers are pretty explicitly instructed to never question the pick list because that slows down operational efficiency. It's easier to fulfill the order and put the onus on the customer to sort it out.As someone on Reddit pointed out, there's a good chance whoever packed it did double or quadruple check the order. This.
Given how seemingly unaware management are and how poor communication is Saddle Creek staff were likely left in the dark or made aware of things last minute.
Good mgmt./companies/leadership takes responsibility. Matt Fiedler never has and passing the buck has trickled down to VMP staff
I really do feel like a broken record over these things some times...
pun intended
Still waiting on an email back from VMP sent a week ago now, about the De La Restock. Considering they couldn't send me a replacement in Febuary because there were "no copies" I asked again seeing there was more. Now I'm expecting to hear back that there is yet again no more De La replacements, no Mobb Deep coming, and to most likely "just wait" for my account page to show I'm still a member..
This is what I get for signing back up again though! Gonna ask for my last month refunded, Becuase I don't know why I thought signing back up was a good idea
I too work in IT and have done several database migrations. If anything remotely like this happened, I would have been fired several times over. I’ve done complex migrations and never had any issues like this. Whomever did this should leave the industry because there is no excuse for this. This has been on my mind the last 2 weeks...
I’ve worked in IT for 24 years, and in various capacities have been involved in many database migrations, system upgrades, and software transitions.
Being generous, anything taking longer than 24 hours to complete is an utter embarrassment.
