Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

I'm normally one who excuses these foibles that VMP has but I can't for the life of me understand the need to migrate your entire platform the week before the busiest shopping season of the year occurs. I mean that would be like Best Buy shutting down to do an inventory on Black Friday. Well, I'm sorry customers, we have to do our inventory at some point. Why not now?

I've been away for most of the day so this may have been covered already. I have tracking showing Mobb Deep as coming to me by December 5th. When I look on my Orders page, I have that same tracking number on the page 16 times under different albums, membership renewals, etc. So I have the sneaking suspicion that I'm getting 16 copies of Mobb Deep. I really hope I'm wrong but I get the feeling this is why people are getting so many of these.

It's a great opportunity to slip shit in during the chaos. So, basically, they opt to do the migration, not only during Black Friday, but during the Fiona drop that people have been waiting 2.5 years for. At this point, they remove the one month option without warning. People notice it, but it's a secondary issue in a sense, because everything else is so fucked. Then they limit it so that you can only swap once and you're stuck, AGAIN without warning. Now you've been locked into an even longer contract, without the awareness that what you've signed up for is being drastically changed. Meanwhile, they're not even announcing drops until the hour before they go live, now, and they're doing it on reddit. It creates panic and nobody has time to realize the new shit going down. Then they're frozen out of their accounts and can't even cancel.

Some people believe that it's the migration that's the issue and VMP is operating in reaction to that. VMP is the problem and the migration is the symptom. We've seen this shit too often. We've had these same discussions about website changes and timing and issues in the past. They responded by jacking up the prices. There's always another shoe, which never solves the problem, but creates a new one. They take away member benefits and use the excuse that those removals are implemented to fix problems that they just created

So took a night away from here. What happened? Oh fuck me!!! This is too good!!! Jesus..... no one can defend this now.

yeah saddle creek used to be their whipping boys. I kind of figured out a while ago that whilst they aren’t perfect they were such an easy scapegoat for VMP. All this shit is on them not a bunch of underpaid warehouse workers.

Totally Joe. I’m a manager. If shit goes down it is management’s DUTY to claim responsibility and fix. If anything Saddle Creek are the strong point in the chain: Take responsibility VMP. Stop blaming staff. Stop blaming CS. Stop blaming members (the most reprehensible). Sort your shit out. Do the decent thing and pause expansion while you, you know, actually deliver the product you advertise to your customers.

This.

Given how seemingly unaware management are and how poor communication is Saddle Creek staff were likely left in the dark or made aware of things last minute.

Good mgmt./companies/leadership takes responsibility. Matt Fiedler never has and passing the buck has trickled down to VMP staff

Totally: it’s not Pauly or Storf or Amelia or Tyler or some annommous packer at Saddle Creek. Stop shitting on the little man Matt. This company is your vision and currently money comes before customer satisfaction. The constant what would you do with more time posts aren’t misquoting you. Look at the response on here and your former love in at Reddit: all of these people gave your company chance upon chance and many went in again for QOTSA/Fiona etc but the lack of dialogue and care make me think this is a quick buck operation, which I question is here for any long game. This sucks for both customers (you are selling one year at a time memberships) and for employees future.

OMG, like @Joe Mac said, they need someone who is insightful to be hired to help VMP in the awful mess they are in right now.

@Crabbers - I still love VMP, but I am scared I am not going to be receiving a copy of Mobb Deep’s The Infamous! I just hope I get a copy! Also, seeing that person with all that Mobb Deep and me not even having my November box yet made me go 🙄😒

VMP needs to get their shit together with inventory. They need their workers to actually go into the warehouse, and count everything and to see what stock they actually have.

They need to talk to the management there, have a good sit down with all the workers at Saddle Creek, even if it’s for 2 hours, and just show them the website and explain everything etc

And finally, VMP need to hire someone (who has a high reputation/strong experience) to fix the migration issues and to probably look into their system in general so they can change things which will ensure these errors systematically do not happen again.

Vinyl Me, Please - STOP FUCKING UP!!!

I just want to know where my November box is because now I’m stating to get worried that it got lost. With the old website, I had a tracking number, but I can’t access it ever since the migration happened 🥺

You haven’t got a November box yet??? Cut the chord Nathsn. the best part of VMP was never the records (some admittedly nice but now overpriced, many, very many, warped or damaged) but these people here. Everyone on here cares about you more than Matt does. Getting replacement credit for every warped battered record might seem a deal but how about, revolutionary idea here, just delivering an undamaged quality item:

and worst of all, they hurt @Joe Mac, They really hurt him.

i'm pretty sure this place has a rule of not just being a trashing forum

From my perspective, you can actually be one of the most negative people on this forum, while, most likely, viewing yourself as the exact opposite. Perspective is relative. I've felt it for a long time and I'm going to say it whether it gets backlash or not, because this is tiring.

When they eliminated the old place, you pretty much blamed the very people who gave you a new community, rather than the company who attempted to set the building on fire with everyone still in it. During the whole process of them basically telling us to go fuck ourselves, you defended them, while simultaneously criticizing members, as if it was our faults. The one amazing thing about the way that went down was that it united the majority of us together, because, for most of us, there was finally no more denying VMP's actions. There was no more benefit of the doubt. And believe me, we have ALL given it to them at one point or another. So, when Needles & Grooves started, the whole fact that it was manifested by us being united was like a miracle. It was a positive thing. It was lemonade. Almost everyone came over here happy. Positive. Every comment that I saw was optimistic and happy. We felt good about ourselves. I read comments about how great this place felt and how much lighter it all was here. Even the color scheme felt less like we were trapped in a dungeon. I have a lot of love for the folks who put this platform together without "more time" to transition. It was beautiful.

THE ONLY negative comments that I saw were from you and that's why they stood out and stuck with me. Your first status update was about how you hoped that everyone wasn't going to be negative over here. Your first post on the introduction thread was also about how you miss the old place and hoped everyone wasn't going to be negative, like they've been. You floated around like a dark cloud with that shit, accusing everyone else who was whistling while they rebuilt the place as being the ones who brought that here. VMP got rid of the forum! They moved to reddit and now a completely different batch of people are pissed over there, who were actually defending them and attacking forum members when they first got there. They've caught on now that it's happening to them. Stop victim blaming people. You've said a lot of shit that just feels like you're yelling at your mom, because your dad left. "YOU DROVE HIM AWAY!!!!" If you're happy, then be happy, but stop trying to stifle and suffocate the feelings of others who deserve to be validated. Don't respond to it if you don't agree, but people have a right to express their frustrations. The old forum was eliminated, because they didn't want people to speak out or validate each other. I'm pretty sure that this place is "supposed to" offer something different than that.

Yo, on my orders page literally everything I've bought on VMP, both vinyl and membership resubs, all have the same tracking number. And that tracking number is for The Infamous.
Anyone else have the same issue?
Yes. Everything except the things that have been shipped in the past week. I still haven't gotten my November box. Wednesday I got a shipping notification for QOTSA... it was the only album listed in the email. I checked the website and everything I should have been getting in November had a shipping number. Then yesterday I got two more shipping notifications for albums that should have been in my November box. Each with a separate tracking number. Checked the site, and sure enough 3 of my 5 November records have different tracking numbers. The other two are marked as paid/unfulfilled but have the same tracking number as QOTSA. It's a clusterfuck over there.

But I have to say, the comic timing of today was PERFECT... Beautiful work

Snap! Whilst I sometimes would like to just sack the lot of them under me in reality that’d be a sign of my weakness, not theirs. You’ve got to put the structure in place to give people the opportunity to shine. I do think storf is a problem though...

I know I never got the opportunity to overhaul @Lee Newman on fair terms plus I mourn those that got lost on the journey!
