Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

So are we all waiting on Fiona or something? I haven’t gotten a shipping notification and it looks like a majority here haven’t yet either.
I am not waiting on Fiona. We're part of the 40%.

I got a shipping notification notice for Fiona.

Still waiting on ALL my December ROTM's.
And a Flaming Lips that I ordered at the beginning of November.
And replacements for Willie Colon and Slowthai.
And TLC.
And probably some other shit I can't remember because my order history is a fucking MESS with their new system.

Still waiting on Mobb Deep, Fiona, December Essentials, December Classics, and Woozy. Fiona I selected to come with my December package...guess that was a mistake.

Mobb Deep I just assume is never coming.

Woozy, no clue. Ordered it before I even posted it on r/verymeatypizza or here, and while others got shipping notification today, I got nothing.

The less appealing thing doesn't mean I hate used records btw, I got that big stack with Paul Simon, miles Davis, Niel young, and Frank zappa all from a friends old records, and I'll gladly buy a VG+ LP from someone. the thing is that I just have a bit of an anxiety with used records, because of more logical things like the chances of having to evaluate quality and old techniques I can't stand (of your album is in automatic record change style I can't fucking stand it). To more paranormal stuff that my delusions come up with..

I just personally find new to be a better experience but I understand the preference for originals

I don't mean it as a negative, just as an example of the variety of outlooks and personalities here

Looks like he’s over it! 😂

also, I may or may not be the one who posted this... it was a legitimate question! lol

He can fuck off with his poor abused "I just work here and try to help" bullshit. A stock check is entirely different than telling everyone that something will NOT sell out, BECAUSE there is a 72 hour buffer before it's open to the public when there isn't. One is an opinion. One is flat out misinformation.

Meanwhile every other related comment is about how everyone knows it's selling out, so his comments were there to pushback on that notion and make people doubt themselves. This establishes that other redditors are more aware and trustworthy than VMP staff. So, when other redditors report issues -- which VMP doesn't -- that reinforces that further. If someone starts asking if VMP is a ponzi scheme or if the company is financed by the zodiac killer, it won't matter. Everything has more credence once you establish that we have to rely on each other for warnings and vital info, while staff is secretive and deceptive. It gives fuel to everything.

It's baffling why they would constantly create these situations for themselves totally unprovoked. They need a sign for how many hours have passed without a fuck up or controversy.

The fact that Storf is still on Reddit is shocking to me. Didn't he quit the forum over less?
Yes, he's getting knocked around much worse than he ever got it on the forum. Don't know the circumstances, but this feels like the guy on the sinking and burning ship tossing one small bucket of water on the flames that are enveloping him.

I certainly think some of the criticism has gotten personal, but on the other hand, most of it has been appropriately directed and the lack of responses/action is disheartening. The hocking of new drops is particularly tone deaf when they can't fulfill their current orders.

They need to take advantage of the next few weeks where business naturally slows to have all hands on deck and dig themselves out from the hole they've gotten themselves in. If not, they legitimately may not make it to the next holiday season. I'm not rooting for failure and in fact, their releases are still from time to time top notch products...its just the shipping is getting much worse, prices are going up (I mean 27 a pop for the TVZ fat possum exclusive, or 34 for David Gray are both high), and the website is unreliable. They might survive one of those, but all three? Not likely.

So their customer-facing message is really "you bought too much (it's your fault), but don't worry, we're making our warehouse workers work on the weekends"?

Ugh, do I really need this Fiona record? I never thought I'd have guilt just buying a damn record...
I'm pretty sure every December they have their biggest shipping month ever. Such a surprise.

But they'll all be on vacation.

The Gray album is also available in white on Amazon for $25 so they're not even trying to compete. I know it's Amazon but $9 more is hilarious. They're just relying on the FOMO shit but sooner or later, people are going to start Googling before pulling the trigger instantly.

Some people had issues, myself included. My first replacement was just fine, but poor @Mather I think gave up after the third replacement.

In store exclusive news, we're getting three drops today:

David Gray - White Ladder
Townes Van Zandt - Our Mother the Mountain
Townes Van Zandt - s/t

Not gonna lie, those TVZs look gorgeous. But uh, I'd like to at least start seeing my November records ship before I throw any more money their way. Got a feeling they'll last at least a little while.
The Townz records look great, but I'm speaking with my wallet. I really wanted the Stones one, but I put my foot down and I went and purchased from my local. Got the CD and the vinyl for fair prices, and most importantly, the vinyl plays great, sounds great (as good as this recording was anyway) and I had it for over month before my GF got her VMP copy. I'll do the same if I really want these Townz records.

The only exception would be if VMP does a sale and these go down to similar or below prices compared to my local. I don't mind waiting when the price is right. But at $27 each... the price is not right.

I’m sure it’s up to the bank, but anyone have experience on reaching out to your card provider and claiming shenanigans? I’m there. Just want money back at this point. Support is mia

Not for VMP, but I've had a couple of online transactions where I never got the item or the seller's account was somehow found to be fraudulent. Chase reviewed my request and refunded the payment in about a day each time. It was surprisingly easy.
