Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

So that "we're 70% done" email went out 2 days ago now? Is that right? And, I mean, not that we hold them in real high regard for logistics and accuracy, but how hard would it have been to update that to show SOME amount of progress for the batch of us that received it today. JFC. Take two seconds to call down to the warehouse and see what's up. Or, maybe they did: "Hey, Brad. We said 70% on Tuesday. Yeah. Yeah. YES BRAD I KNOW THAT WAS A LIE, but what do you think? 80% now? 30%! FUCK! No, I'll just say 70% again. Oh, by the way, you're working an 18 hour shift on Christmas day. Yep. OKAY BYEEEEEE!"
lolol I was thinking the same thing as well. why not say 75%, shows progress even a little bit. But repeating 70% just shows they're not moving fast enough...
Even if a lie, I would've said a slightly higher number but that's just me...

EAT IT @Bradley !

Hot take?

VMP mailers are better than 99% of all other mailers I recieve from online orders.

I always keep them, and have never had one issue with damage when selling on Discogs with them. Of course I ship with the sleeve outside of the record, but I find them to be rather perfect..

Any corner ding I've ever had from VMP never effected the whole package, just one record (clearly before it left the warehouse)

I feel like their mailers are the last thing I'm complaining about.

Not necessarily a hot take as much as an exception to the rule. How many records do you usually receive a month? I do agree that VMP mailers are better than those awful white square boxes which offer ZERO corner protection whatsoever. I seem to be getting a lot more of those kind lately, sadly.

I kinda agree. They are at least as good as most. The issue isn’t the mailers themselves. It’s how they are packaged within the mailers that causes the majority of issues.

I miss the old Kanye......er......Black VMP mailers.

Wow, catching up on this thread is always exhausting, I don't think I'm going to do it anymore, lol.

So to all, I would like to wish a happy Holiday Season, best of luck with whatever your given issue is with the "Dark Side", and most of all, be mad, be pissed, speak your mind, use, or lack of use, your wallet as a weapon................but most importantly BE GOOD TO EACH OTHER ;)

Here's the thing - it's not an issue that resulted from staff bandwidth. This is all due to poor planning, management, and execution on a system migration. And unless they fix THAT, we're in for the same problems next month, regardless of whether they hire temps for this month.
Allowing them to skip a ROTM would be allowing them to be the victim. They are a company, not a club. They need to get their business done. And because of the mess they’ve put themselves in, more people is the only solution. More packing people, more IT people, more support people, more training people.
Also, do you really think in any situation ever that a VC backed company is going to go a full month without their primary revenue stream? 20K - 30k individual refunds, plus that would cause another huge wave of cancellations. Skipping a month is simply not an option for this company, regardless of how any of their customers feel about it.

Annnnd the mods at r/vinylmeplease removed the poll.

@MattHasIdeas - what's up with that? A user poll is outside of the scope of the megathread of complaints.

FWIW, the poll currently stands at 31 in favor, 29 against.

Hey man. Sorry for the delay - It's been a busy day at work. I didn't see any of this until recently. I'm fairly certain one of the other mods took care of this and reinstated the thread. Have a good one!

Oh not nearly as much as I use to get, but comparing from places like Rough Trade, Newbury, Flightless, Amazon, Various Random Discogs.. the VMP ones are rather good.

And yes, I know exactly those white squares you speak of.. Lol, those things are terrible.

Everything from nov still unfullfilled but waylon jennings arrived today and i can confirm that they now correctly stated the value as 25$ on the customs form which made it just cruise under the eu customs threshold. This is definitely the right thinng to do as a company but is potentially a 20% add-on on top of the already-inflated prices.

The bold is likely out of reach for them. We did the math the other day, but I can't imagine they can really handle many more salaried positions for IT/support/etc.
