VMP + Linn "The Playlist" - Event Review

I was lucky enough to attend the VMP + Linn event that took place in Dallas this past week, and I wanted to share the experience with everyone. I realized after the event I didn't even take a photo of the system... rookie mistake! First and foremost, this was an excellent event and if you have...

I imagine it’s select cities with brick and mortar Linn dealers, but it was a good time and was nice to meet so local folks.

*sidenote - it was announced before the former forum shutdown.

I got the announcement via email. I would assume they only sent them to people in the same geographical location as the events. There was a thread on the old forum, but if I remember correctly it was started by a user and not by a VMP account.

That was my understanding, that generally they only sent emails to people near by the events

The label's distributor I should say and because this is at the label level that is how VMP got a repress of Weyes Blood. Unfortunately, this one also sold out so we will get a lottery system again. I emailed Matt about as it seemed we found out about Weyes Blood before VMP.

Storf said on Reddit they only sold a little over half of Hatchie, and they pulled it from the store while they investigate what's missing.

It's the label's distributor, not VMP's, the only choice VMP would have is to not have the label's artists as exclusives, however, this was announced prior to the first time (same label as Weyes Blood).

Fair enough it may be the labels fuck up but why is it just VMP that it keeps happening to? Those albums don’t not appear in our local stores? VMP are diasterously short of the people who can run logistics and take the hard decisions to blacklist labels who fuck up until they get their shit together.

They could now, but as I said this was announced/planned prior to the Weyes Blood situation so if they were to go the quit working with the label route it wouldn't have happened until after this album and I doubt they would want to cancel everyone's order and potentially eat the cost of the exclusive.
