Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

Okay not to belabor the point, but currently on Weyes Blood Loser Ed copy number 4 and so far through side A it is okay. Still has fuzz on the quiet parts but almost no pops. This is totally fine. Hopefully side B continues. Oh, but it's shaped like a very nice sounding wok. So there's that.

Are your vinyl packages perhaps delivered in a small oven or placed on a radiator? Or is there some kind of unidentified heat source located within the Toronto postal service? This all seems beyond coincidence at this point 🔥🧿🔥🐲

or just poor quality control at the pressing plant

All four copies of Weyes Blood Loser Ed. came from 3 different brick and mortar stores. So in this case... it's just a crap pressing haha...

I could actually deal with the lack of dynamics, it's the near constant pops and low lever crackle/fuzz that's doing my head in. 3 copies of the Loser Ed. and all are just awful... Trying one more then giving up...

Definitely no crackle or Pops on my copy. But i got the Euro loser Edition. Those are normally different pressings

Stella Donnelly is back as well. Great album, though I actually prefer Secretly's opaque olive to VMP's translucent pineapple. Not surprisingly, all five are low stock. Also not surprisingly, I ended up buying 4 of 5 (don't own Sasami) elsewhere when they were inevitably delayed, etc.

I will also add, the fact that they did not run out of replacement copies on these would suggest that there were likely fewer QC issues, which is a good thing if you are thinking of grabbing one.

Good looking out, think I grabbed the last Stella. I was mad I missed it the first time, looks like I just made it this time :)

Julia Jacklin is good too, but $29 is kind of steep. I got the Polyvinyl version directly from the label during a recent sale for like, $10.

What is this "URL trick" that you speak of?
I believe it was discussed in the Essentials track thread a while back. Basically if you go to the current months selection (for example, Phoenix - Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix), you need to change the URL to reflect the next track number, and the band/album you want to guess. If it takes you to the store, the guess is wrong. If it takes you back to that months selection, the guess is correct. So if you try it with this months guess of vol-79-Jorge-ben-africa-brasil it will redirect you back to the Phoenix pick. Thus, that's this months selection. I believe this only works 2-3 days before the pick is announced.

And if you enter it incorrectly (for example I put in vol-79-jorge-ben-jor-africa-brasil), it brings you to the store page.
With just jorge-ben-africa-brasil, it brought me to the essentials page.

I didn't realize with the change in damage policy that there is an official form you can fill out for a replacement

I decided to take a chance & go this route instead of the usual info@. I attached a video of the loud popping on Stars; mine actually starts in the last 10 seconds of Soft Revolution.

VMP sent a response email at 12p letting me know they'd received my inquiry, and I just (1:30p) received a response from Pauly that I'm receiving a replacement.

When I was filling out the form, I mentioned that I knew it was a widespread issue & here was my video to add to the rest. I didn't want them thinking they could downplay the issue since even though this forum is a subset of the overall user base, it's too many people to be a coincidence. Pauly's response was "Lets try a new copy, and see if the same issue is on the new one. My hope is that it was just a small part of the batch. "

I think I will do that tonight. Did you attach a full video or a YouTube link. I have found my videos are too large a file
