pink floyd - a momentary lapse of reason

this is the only record of theirs that i feel truly sounds dated/a product of its time. even the early syd records have some timelessness to them. i used to enjoy this album quite a bit when i was younger and had less exposure to the rest of the floyd albums.

just remember, this guy and his hair played on this album and tour:

The remixes version on the later years box set is worth a listen, makes it more Floyd and less 80’s , I was hoping it would get a release for RSD rather than that pointless one sided 7inch

pink floyd - the endless river

i find this album to be a worthy capper to pink floyd’s career - save for the absence of thematic lyrics, this album encapsulates and distills the pink floyd of every era into one record, albeit with a more later years feeling. is it essential listening? no, probably not. but it stands on its own and i don’t think it can or should be considered their worst record. plus, as a tribute to rick wright, it does more than most floyd records in highlighting his playing.

and with that, i made it through all their records. i love pink floyd.

Flipping to side B now...so far it sounds great. The KG cut from a few years ago sounded great, too...but I haven't listened to it recently to make any comparisons at this point....some day I'll get to it.

pink floyd - the division bell

i’ve got a soft spot for this album, which was the first - and what for a long time i thought would be the only - NEW pink floyd record to come out after i became a fan. their june 22 show here in 1994 was the first concert i ever went to. i spent countless nights falling asleep to the cd playing on my cheap philco bookshelf stereo. it’s not the best floyd album, but it means a lot to me.

Trivia: the album title was suggested by none other than Douglas Adams.

Cross-post from the challenge thread....

Creedence Clearwater Revival "Willie and the Poor Boys" (1969 Fantasy Records; 2014 Analogue Productions reissue)

Damn this pressing sounds amazing.

Should we start our own thread to talk about 1200G/GRs. Like a 'Technics Wankers' version of the Ultra deck thread. Just cooler and with blue strobes
