The Caretaker - An Empty Bliss Beyond This World
Looks like your turntable is on an Apollo mission.
It was well ahead of its time. Landing on Water is just bad and Life just uses it as bookends. It’s a shame that the Geffen era is so maligned because Trans and Old Ways are genius.
It’s a great story and pure Neil. I’m not making Rock Records? Well, here’s a goldarn Rock n roll record. I imagine David Geffen putting his cigar out in stupid expensive scotch over that shit.Had never heard the Geffen suing him story. Thanks for making me look it up!
Reactor gets a bad rap cause well who really wants a t-Bone anyhow?Yeah, I really should pick up a vinyl copy of Old Ways. Not sure I’ve ever seen that one in the bins. There’s always ample copies of Landing on Water and Re-ac-tor though
I’ve got a cd copy. I was looking through the Allmusic discography and the only official albums I don’t own a copy of in any format are: Comes a Time, Broken Arrow, Archives Vol 1 and Storytone.Yeah, I really should pick up a vinyl copy of Old Ways. #21: Georges Bizet - CarmenThe agutierrezb 2019 record collection challenge
So I've decided to embark on my own personal challenge, which consists of listening every record in my collection before the end of the year. My record collection is not that big -only ~250-, but I still feel like there are a bunch of records I don't give enough attention to, while still adding more titles to my shelves.
For this reason I've set a couple of rules in order to play every record at least once before December 31st: I'll play at least one record a day, going from front to back in the way I have them sorted in my shelf. I can play a different record (i.e. Not the next one in alphabetical order) if I feel like listening to something else in any given moment, but at least one of the records I spin in the day has to be the LP in turn.
I didn't take pictures for the first two days, but I'll try to document the process from here on, so I'll be posting daily on this thread. Wish me luck!
