Notably features Alice Coltrane who is in excellent form, but Michael White on violin really kills it as well. Just a great record all around and a high quality reissue! I need more coffee!

Since the covers are pretty much the same I figured I'd show the back of this one. Yes, I played them backwards. Thought I was only playing the second half and couldn't resist the first after.

I don't usually get to spin records for my kids to dance to in the middle of the week, but everything is canceled for the mandatory evacuation for Dorian. Still trying to decide if we'll stay or go. Hope to at least get in a few extra spins in the meantime.

That coffee looks delicious. And does the glass say Outer Banks? Tell me more! My parents have a house in Corolla in the OBX. It's my consistent vacation destination because it is free to me.

Stanley Turrentine - Rough 'N Tumble
An all star line-up joins Stanley on an album of pop covers, basically. Not much soloing done by anyone other than the leader, unfortunately. Still, a real great record.

A free place to stay in Corolla? Nice! My wife and I stayed in Kitty Hawk for a week in June and loved it. Didn't get up to Corolla to see the horses, though! Next time, for sure. The glass is from the Outer Banks Brewing Station, which has good beer and food. It's used more now as my tall cold brew glass than for beer!

Stan Getz - Captain Marvel
Getz is joined by Chick Corea, Stanley Clarke, and Airto from Return to Forever and most of the album is tracks from the first two RtF albums, so you know this is latin jazz fusion central. I actually haven't listened to Return to Forever yet, so I can't say for sure that Getz and Tony Williams on drums improves these tracks, but this is so good I'd be surprised if they didn't.

I have @Mr Moore to thank for this one. Im not a massive fan of big band jazz, but I think Cannonball Adderley really steals the show here and makes the album all the more exciting!
