The Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Fever To Tell I picked this up months ago but it kinda got lost in the shuffle. I hadn’t even opened it yet. Looks like I was missing out, it sounds fantastic and the little extras (newspaper liner note, art print, printed inner sleeve AND jacket interior). It’s a pretty fun LP!
One of my favorite albums of the last decade, by one of my favorite bands! This is the red vinyl version from Urban Outfitters, and one of my favorites in my collection.
The Strokes - Is This It UK
The Strokes - Is This It US So, I’ve had the US version forever and picked on the UK MOV version a couple years ago mainly because I have always had an affinity for the original UK artwork. I have never listened to both versions back to back and while both sound pretty good the MOV had much less surface noise than the US version. The main plus of the US version is that it has a gatefold jacket while the UK version does not.
Steve Reid Ensemble - Spirit Walk (Soul Jazz Records, SJR LP 122, UK, 2005)
Well this is excellent, best 12 quid chance I’ve taken in a while. Never heard of it before but it’s proving right up my street. A great mix of free jazz and electronics provided by Four Tet’s Kieran Hebden. I now see they collaborated on two other releases in 2006 that I’m going to have to hunt down.
Apocalyptica & The MDR Symphony Orchestra - Wagner Reloaded, Live In Leipzig (2013)
Incredible live album by Apocalyptica, with works inspired by Richard Wagner. Great record! Got this on a steep discount a while back, finally getting around to spinning it.
