Fab compilation just out from Melbourne of the local soul/jazz scene. Probably more vocals than I'd normally like on jazz but it works and there are some great tracks on here from Wvr Bvby, Daniel Merriweather, Laneous etc.

It would have been Johnny Cash's 88th birthday today, so I'm spinning American Recordings IV: The Man Comes Around. I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone who hasn't heard it. The 2014 vinyl was remastered and cut by Chris Bellman and pressed at QRP. I did a longer write up about it on my blog and reddit, check it out if you're interested!

Yeah - I had some compliance concerns but it works very nicely on my Pro-Ject Debut Carbon. I did have to get the heaviest counterweight, though. These MoFi carts are HEAVY

I picked this up to see how it compares to a 1980's George "Porky" Peckham cut UK reissue....someday I will do an A/B comparison.
But this one sounds pretty good to me - includes a bonus track in mono.
