i haven't had much time to listen to anything, really, at least not what i normally would. big life changes will do that. i haven't even listened to a vinyl record since may. so, my list is pretty much albums that got themselves repeat plays either because 1) they just really stuck out to me or 2) left a very positive impression on me on first listen and encouraged subsequent listens.

artists with new albums this year that i am excited about and would have a good chance making my list (especially seeing them mentioned in this thread already) but i just haven't been able to listen to yet - beth gibbons, sturgill simpson, michael kiwanuka, kim deal

I've been listening to a lot of 2024 the past few weeks. Most of these are actually albums I listened to when they came out (or throughout the year) but a few of these are new additions like Floating Points, KLO, and Michael Kiwanuka. Which probably would be rated higher if I've been listening to them all along.
Getting fatigue at this point with new music - can't keep up. There's albums I think would probably be included if I had time to give them proper listens but it ended up like this:

2024 had its moments. However, I'm not quite shouting praises on the mountaintops like others in the decade for music. Electronic has been a go-to...familiar genres like ambient and downtempo were mainstays of the year's rotation, but further exploring deep house, ambient techno, and progressive electronic proved fruitful. If anything, they were additional motivating factors to transition my vinyl collection preferences to genres that I will be frequently DJing with.
I have only seen three of the below live this year, with one of the below scheduled for next year (Astrid Sonne). Concert count was also halved from last year. Might post that list as well when time allows.

I like to do Top Tens that I share with friends but this was a tough year with so many great things across many genres (for me). I made a Top 11 and then because I have problems making decisions like this, I added another 9 to make it a cool 20. All are five points each and in no order per se, though the Hunt/Miller and Blood Incantation are probably my two favorites if I had to choose.
