Your week in music (last.fm collages...)

Some sleep music. A lot of time with records from the 1001 generator. @Ghost reminded me of the greatness of Nick Hakim (and I agree Nau and Hakim are much from the same cloth no matter outward appearances). The Hirsh/Spalding still plays as very self indulgent but is a good listen. The Wormrot comes vía ol’ melon.
Means so much that you’ve been consistently reading along with the newsletter and trusting my recommendations! Makes me smile everytime, thank you my friend ❤️

Week 3 recap:

Breakdown
I now have a new music distraction in the form of the 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die challenge. Likely less new music releases to be listened to over the course of this year (and next few).
Haven't been impressed by too much this year, to be fair. I found the newest by doom metal outfit Ahab to be fairly enjoyable. Same with Rozi Plain and Cicada's modern classical album.

my week:

@Ghost is responsible for the number 1. 1001 album generator is responsible for #2, 3 (this was the week for this in the other recordings to listen to book I am reading... stupid fucker is awesome and I hate him and I hate myself for liking it and FUCK YOU. are you off my lawn yet? good. we can continue), 7 and 9. Rozi, Margo and Whitehorse are the highlights of new music for the week. Margo is a strong contender for my favorite record of the quarter (too early for year).

How are you enjoying Heligoland? Have you spent time with it prior?

Mostly revisiting old favorites and albums I hadn't listened to in too long. The new Mac & Oddisee were enjoyable, Mac made for great busy at work music. I'll have to give Oddisee another listen when I can pay closer attention. That Dijon album keeps rising up the ranks as one of my favorite albums from the last few years.

Week 3

I've enjoyed the new album releases by Velvet Negroni, Circa Waves, Gaz Coombes, Blur's Dave Rowntree, Liela Moss and Rozi Plain. Edwin Rosen is a German Indie Synthpop singer a friend mentioned and whose songs I've enjoyed too. Apart from that some favourites.
