Has anyone here moved to a different state/region of the U.S. because of either cost of living/culture/politics and if so did you get out of it what you hoped?Went digging for the first time in a year to my favorite not so local store. Didn’t find much but did come away with a nice original mono “Another side of” Bob Dylan.
Happy happy!!Just wanted to check in before the end of the year to say I love you all. I feel it necessary to remind everyone here how much it means to me to have a like minded community of music, record, and gear nerds to solicit advice from, share finds and gear purchases with, and to simply be a part of this community that has at time been more of a “family” than my conventional one.Second year in a row I get to have thanksgiving at my apartment with my fiancée (preferable for me) already spatchcock and salted the turkey sitting in the fridge, stock on the stove, hot dish in the oven, about to start the cranberry sauce. Fiancée made a German chocolate poke cake for dessert.I’ve gotten to the point where I want to purge records, which is a constant when you have this many, but there really isn’t any more low hanging fruit. Hope you had someone there to see you through.Second PGA meeting of the year, that’s two too many.Listening to The Beatles catalog for the first time since adding the new cart and subsequent phono stage replacement. If this was as good as it got and I perished tomorrow somehow, I will have experienced music at a fidelity I didn’t know possible.Life is boring when you look forward to nothing and no longer get enjoyment from anything.Apartment life for me has reached peak levels of misery. All of you that have lived in apartments I salute you if you maintained your sanity.It’s been a banner year so far for churning credit cards, up to $800 soon to be $1050 in subs alone.On a scale of 1-10 how “record nerd” is it that I can identify a RCA pressed LP (pre dynalfex) by the way it feels?I have fully committed financially to the goal of buying a home, unfortunately that means a complete hiatus on record and gear purchases (outside of component failure). It’s definitely a first world problem, but buying records was the only thing that got me out of my apartment outside of work, haven’t been to a record store since January.
