    A third Black Pumas show has been added at The Mohawk in Austin. Glad they are simply adding more shows to the same venue rather than pushing us towards Stubb's or some other larger venue. They won't be playing a venue the size of The Mohawk in the future, that's for sure.

    Website, although I guess it kind of mirrors the version of the app I have on my phone. Doesn't seem quite as bad on the phone though for some reason. I had tested it a few weeks back, and I wasn't a fan. At some point this evening it switched on me for good. Well, I'm not seeing the option to switch back, so I'm assuming this is the new normal. But it isn't normal.

    After finishing season 3 of Stranger Things, all I want is to get myself a time machine and go back to Sharpstown Mall in Houston circa 1988 and get myself a large Tropical Cream Supreme from Orange Julius. And then go to Sam Goody to look for Cure cassingles.

    I know summer songs these days tend to be hip-hop or pop tunes rather than rock songs, but, I'd rather have 'This Summer' or pretty much anything off of Japandroids' "Celebration Rock" record any day. Especially 'The House That Heaven Built'.

    Loving all of the space related documentaries that are running right now to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the moon landing. If you're into that stuff like me, don't sleep on PBS over the next few weeks.

    The one that was on last night, "When We Were Apollo" was really good. A lot of different voices and perspectives than many of the other docs which tend to focus on the astronauts themselves.

    Caught the new Spider Man on Friday, and then watched the latest episode of “Euphoria” later that night. Zendaya has some legit acting range.

    Just got a ticket to see Black Pumas at The Mohawk in August. Gonna be a hot show! No, it is LITERALLY gonna be a hot show. Late August...outdoors...Texas...there is a chance I will actually melt into a puddle of sweat.

    Not sure. I went to a new sandwich place here in town, and they had them in the small bags. Didn't indicate that they were limited, but, I don't know for sure. They were pretty great though.

    I had not heard anything, but it's funny I read that because I was just thinking about them last night. Not to get too political, but, I thought about them in light of the news stories I saw last night about USWNT soccer player Megan Rapinoe's comments about not going to the White House. Reminded me of the backlash that the Chicks got for making comments about President Bush overseas & the craziness that set off.

    Been a lot of talk about Lou Reed lately, so this felt appropriate. KUTX asked Alejandro Escovedo to curate an hour of Lou's songs for their My KUTX guest DJ segment. This was put together and aired the year that Lou passed. Link in next post.
