He needs to give it up. 52 days and nothing nailed down and tickets haven’t been sold yet?

I don't want to compare it to Fyre Festival, because they are different animals, but I'm hearing the same disconnect from reality that I heard from those organizers in the documentaries.
Shakey Graves covering a rather dark Roger Miller tune for Bruce Robison's The Next Waltz project.
Good day for new releases from Austin based artists. Black Pumas and Bruce & Kelly both putting excellent work out into the world today.
Spoon greatest hits album is due out in July, and it includes one new track, 'No Bullets Spent'. Looking at the tracklisting, and, this thing looks very slight. Only 13 songs...one of them new. What is there is solid, but a ton of great songs missing.
Every time I see something about the band PUP, my brain reads PULP, and I get very excited that there is news about PULP. I'll have to check PUP out, but I also wouldn't mind hearing something new from Jarvis and/or PULP.
Digging into this debut album from Lola Tried after enjoying the hell out of their set on Saturday opening for Cruiserweight. Just the shot of adrenaline needed on a Monday. Not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but tons of potential for this group.
Great show featuring local artists tonight. A Cruiserweight reunion show with Lola Tried and Quiet Company as openers. All 3 bands brought it. Wasn't sure what to expect from Cruiserweight as they've been dormant for a while now, but they sounded great.
I love the commercial with the father and daughter going to the Mets game with the Bee Gees' 'To Love Somebody' playing in the background...at least until the Facebook Groups logo pops up at the end. Damn you Zuckerberg!

Listening to the 2 tracks again this morning I still prefer 'Hurry On Home'. That one feels like a single. I could get used to the subdued nature of 'The Future Is Here', but I think it's an odd choice for a single. Feels like a deep cut & more concerning, to my ears at least, it doesn't really have much S-K sonic DNA at all. Change & growth are great, but this one feels like another group altogether.

All that said, I'm still planning on getting my ticket for their show in November later this morning.

Wasn't aware that we were getting a CD/Digital copy of the album with the live show ticket.

They could play the same songs at every show and I'd never get tired of seeing Bruce Robison and Kelly Willis play live.
Not sure how far outside of the region they reached, but, if there are any What Made Milwaukee Famous fans, they are doing a 15th anniversary limited edition vinyl release of their debut album, "Trying To Never Catch Up". More details in next post.

Think this shows up anywhere else? Don't really care for the shirt, let alone $15 shipping!

I loved that first record, and saw them here in Austin quite a bit. One of the co-founders, Drew, was a cousin of one of my very good friends at that time. Felt like their quality dipped after he left the group, which was after the first record I think. They are playing a couple of reunion shows in Austin and one in Houston this September.

    Not sure.
I signed up for that Okkervil River subscription deal a few months back. I had already received the initial package of stuff, and I've been downloading the monthly live releases. However, today the lyrics for my selected song, 'Plus Ones', arrived. Gotta say, this is pretty cool to have.

I love the series! It's pretty good even though it's a chiefly digital deal (at least tunes wise)

Yeah, I feel like I'm getting my money's worth for sure. I didn't have a heads up that the lyrics were arriving today, so that was a nice surprise.

Oooh, this latest edition is really good. The "Black Sheep Boy" anniversary show from 2015. Can't wait to spend more time with this one.
First 4 songs I heard this morning: Dr. John's 'Goin' Back To New Orleans'; Erika Wennerstrom's cover of Townes' 'Be Here To Love Me'; Leonard Cohen's 'Bird On A Wire'; and Cults' 'High Road'. Public radio doing its thing.
