The Leonard Cohen “Hallelujah” doc on Netflix actually has made me re-appreciate the song ‘Hallelujah’. The Jeff Buckley portion was particularly poignant. The Eric Church bit…not so much.
Digging the new Ladytron record quite a bit.
Happy to hear that boygenius is getting the band back together and have a full length album coming out soon. Also happy to hear that Bayonne has a new album due out 5/26. He also pre-released a 3rd single today from the record. All 3 have been solid.
In retrospect, I probably should’ve ranked the Kevin Morby record higher on my albums list, and I definitely should’ve ranked Big Thief’s ‘Time Escaping’ higher on my songs list.
Been on a pretty sustained Hüsker Dü kick for the past few months. Hard for me to believe there was a time that I used to skip the Grant Hart songs and actually preferred their Warner Bros. albums.

Splurged earlier today and picked up both the PJ Harvey B-Sides vinyl box set, and the Sade vinyl box set. Got to spend some Christmas money on fun stuff for a change, and also got to take advantage of Waterloo’s box set discount at the same time.

Favorite performance in “The Last Waltz”? Tough call. Even though he’s a horrible human being, for me it is probably Van Morrison’s ‘Caravan’.

The new season of Austin City Limits begins this Saturday with an hour long Brandi Carlile episode. The stream of the taping was incredible, so I’m really excited to see the final product. Check your local PBS station for airtimes.
