I'd probably go 1, 2, H20, Resurrection. Resurrection may be the worst of the bunch though.I've never actually seen any of the halloweens - which is the best timeline?
1, 2, 4-6?
1,2, H2O, resurrection?
1, 2018, Kills, ends?
or Rob Zombie I & II?

I'll go a step further and say Halloween (78) and everything else is optional. The rest range from mid to atrocious.I'm gonna take a slightly different tack and recommend you do
Halloween (1978)
Halloween (2018)
...all others optional.
If you're viewing it under the lens of only consuming the classics, sure. But I think you'll find that most horror fans are watching this stuff for the kills, lore or vibes, not necessarily because it's critically acclaimed or a well put together film. I find H20 to feel like a conversation with an old friend. Then HII (1981) is nice since it picks up where H1 left off. So if someone was craving that vibe and wanted something that was still produced by Carpenter, you could do worse. Then Halloween 6 has Paul Rudd, so yeah, I'm not not gonna see that in action, no matter how terrible.I'll go a step further and say Halloween (78) and everything else is optional. That's fair! The vibes can get you pretty far in the original runIf you're viewing it under the lens of only consuming the classics, sure. I think i'll do the 1/2 H2O & resurrection and see how I like enough to continue from there.
Resurrection has Busta Rhymes! the heck - i gotta watch that
I'll give Resurrection credit for trying something different, albeit very reflective of the times (Reality TV). Tyra Banks though? C'mon.I think i'll do the 1/2 H2O & resurrection and see how I like enough to continue from there.

Resurrection is still on my watchlist for this year. I don't know that I ever saw it when it came out.
Oh yeah that's a classic. The sleeping bag scene is etched into my brain. Jason X would play on Encore all the time, which was the only "premium" channel we had, so my late night options were limited. I remember it played that, The English Patient, Blue Velvet, and other stuff my young mind couldn't comprehend. The franchise movie I DO remember from 2002 is Jason X, and I'd love to watch that one again. I remember it being completely ridiculous but also lots of fun
