Hoodoo Gurus are a lotta fun. They got chops and Dave Faulkner writes with great wit and emotion. They should be @TenderLovingKiller® wheelhouse material.Stoneage Romeos from a few years prior is a great album
And that was the only marketing they did. Well that’s the way the journalists/band make it out.Love this bold Twp-Page Advertisement by Capitol for Paul’s Boutique upcoming release.

So weird to think that they barely toured this album. I saw a one-off show in '91 (benefit for Marys Danish bass player) that when I look the tour history, was only the 5th appearance after Pauls Boutique came out, and that was roughly 2 years later! And that was the only marketing they did. Like a lot of stuff on here, I wasn’t familiar but finding out the track featured Michael Stipe certainly piqued my interest.Damn I haven't listened to that Syd Straw album in years. I really liked it when it came out

Love the USA Today pull-quote. "Milli Vanilli manage to come off as strong on stage as they do in video." OopsYeah, "I Don't Want a Lover" is great. I know of that song thanks to GTA radio.
Here's a funny ad from Billboard that week (at least I think it's pretty funny):

Stan Ridgway - “Calling Out To Carol”

Really, all the videos for the new additions feel very of their time.I think Stan must have used the same set as "Mexican Radio" from his Wall of Voodoo days and just changed the lighting from Red to Blue. Looks very similar.
