Animal Collective "Strawberry Jam" - look it's December in Canada, should there be snow? Probably, do I have to like it? Nope! Features the track Winter Wonderland which is what I see when I look outside!! We had snow on the weekend and more is coming so I'm trying to look on the positive side!!!

I have a copy of this headed my way soon and know nothing about it other than some love it's gotten here and I was able to secure a cheap copy! Very excited to go into it blind once it arrives (likely in January, but that's fine by me!)

Typically I could have used something like 'It Never Rains in Southern California' but it has rained (thankfully) the last few days and its tapering off. So I'm going with 'Ain't Gonna Rain Anymore' off this album. I think it makes a good slow, dark start to volume 2 / side 2 of the mixtape.

Elvis Costello "My Aim Is True" (1977 Stiff Records; 2015 reissue)
It's sub-zero cold out here today. Was around -11C this morning but "warmed up" to -3C. On the other hand, sun is bright and the sky has that wonderful winter blue shine. So I'm going with "Less Than Zero" to describe this. Interestingly, I had two choices of songs with this title - this and the recent release by The Weeknd (best track on that record too IMO). Decided to go with Elvis because it flows better in the mix.

Day 13 - Guardians pre-holiday party has been in full effect since the turkey kablooey incident! After Nebula, it's Mantis' turn to join. She brought her guitar to throw some live music interludes into the Awesome Mix. What should we do next? Something good? Something bad? A little of both?

Sunny and cold is perfect for slowcore. Was -14 when I left for work at 7:30, but warmed up to -3 by the time I came home.

For once it's not rainy here, and looking to get better (and cold) the next few days. But the Portland area is known for rain, and this record ends with the song Rainy Day. So there ya go.

Cold, grey & dreary. That’s what it’s like in Edmonton all winter long, and when we do get sunny days it’s often offset by the wind chill. Seriously, going outside at this time of year is pure misery for me.

That’s honestly the same vibe I get from this album, tho it brings me nothing close to misery!

It was a pretty normal weather day in the 30s most of the day. Until I was on my way home tonight, and it's started raining pretty good. Its supposed to last overnight, and we'll see if it turns into any snow!

Yesterday the skies got real clear which meant the cold kicked in extra hard and fast as the sun went down, which cut my playground time down with the baby. I thought that meant a big cold snap in store for today but, instead, it was a reasonable December chill, while any real coldness was obscured by clouds.
