Oh, there are quite a few "great" albums, but if I had to take 3 to the Island, you know, lolWhere is the love for Lulu?

Yeah, those are pretty good too.Transformer, New York and Berlin for me
@Mather would know, it is the soundtrack to his murder dungeonSpeaking of Lou. Whats the best Metal Machine Music package? @NathanRicaud do you have this one??
Holding out for a one step of that one!Speaking of Lou. Whats the best Metal Machine Music package? @NathanRicaud do you have this one??
my bet is that this doesn't come until 2022 at the earliest. BST was "announced" 2 years ago and still isn't out and they fast-tracked Janis Joplin this year to get it done for the anniversary.Speaking of One-Steps, this bad boy is on the way sometime this year, I can't even imagine how it's going to sound

Haha yeah it’s a Porky cut Stiff. Wish they weren’t so expensive for everyone else’s sake.

If you want to know about Lou Reed though the man you have to ask is @Yer Ol' Uncle D
Agree on Ecstasy. Don’t forget Coney Island Baby.My top Lou records would be...
Rock N Roll Animal - What a beautiful beast. You can also throw Live in there as a companion piece. Not as strong as RNRA but from the same tour with the same incredible band.
New York - Lou was New York.
The Blue Mask - The best of the Robert Quine era records. New Sensations a runner-up.
Berlin - Hide all the sharp objects before playing. A beautiful record dealing with the darkest of emotions.
Transformer - Really Lou's first solo record although it was his second release.
Ecstasy - A sorely underrated record. The RSD release from a couple years ago can still be had on the cheap and it sounds fantastic.
Street Hassle - Punk, jazz, chamber music - it's all there.

I had this one in my cart last time but I already have Transformer Speakers Corner and an old pressing of Rock N Roll Animal so I ended up passing. It’s still kinda tempting but...None are forgotten, just had to stop somewhere.
When I got the Arista box set that's all Lou's personally overseen remasters, Coney Island Baby was probably the greatest revelation and the record that got the most benefit from Lou's tweaking. Sounds incredible.
If the Target 2 for 1 rolls back around you can get that 6LP Arista box for about $65.

I might grab the New York reissue instead next time around and maybe get a copy of Berlin elsewhereYeah - I already had every vinyl LP available in the Lou catalog but I bought it anyway.
As my wife says, "It's not about what I spent, it's what I saved." She's got a point.
First time I heard the song Coney Island Baby, which was on the radio a few years back, I had to have that album. Something about that song really captures Lou for me.None are forgotten, just had to stop somewhere.

I always laugh at how good the original pressing of New York sounds on vinyl despite it being about an hour long. DMM at Masterdisk, Bob Ludwig mastered. My top Lou records would be...

New York is my absolute favorite Lou, but I don't need a CD box.I’ve really gotten into New York too. Sucks the LP remaster is so expensive. Wish they did a version without the CDs and everything for cheaper.
