Definitive Audiophile pressings

Hopefully it'll be around long enough for us to give feedback on it in case you want it later. I've held off buying this title for years, so it made sense to get it for me.

I only have that Cale mix from VMP. Actually, I do have a reissue copy but it's warped to hell and in storage (or it's gone, I don't know anymore, lol). I'd probably move the Cale mix if this sounds good because I don't really play it.

It'll actually be interesting because the one place that KPG isn't a slam dunk is dirty rock albums. I find he can separate stuff too much and it can come off sounding a bit... Incongruous. Like a jazz mix of a grunge record. I've got the Sefchick 2 LP RSD which is pretty good, so I'll be interested to hear what KPG does to it.

He has spent too much time working on jazz albums lately. He cut his teeth in the 80s and 90s on a lot of punk and alternative titles. @MikeH correct this poor behaviour on the part of your “employee”

I have some really random Kevin Gray cut rock annd punk albums like Weezer Green album, a couple from Jimmy Eat World, The Clash, Cramps, The Promise Ring, Blink. They all sound fine enough! That Promise Ring album sounds really good actually but I just think it’s funny that one day he’s cutting Enema of the State and the next he’s cutting Coltrane or something.

I have some mixed reviews on the KG rock cuts.
AB was awesome.
The Sabbath was a B+ for me. Piercing at times compared to the German cut. Different UK tapes so that could be a thing too.
Overall he's usually a slap shot for SQ.

He did a bunch of reissues for Drastic Plastic a while back and those I have are all quite excellent.

While I was looking at that abomination, this popped up.

Believe it or not, I don’t have a single Mofi release in my collection. This one I’m interested in, though. How limited do we expect this pressing to be, or is it a case like with Tone Poets where I can wait like 6 months and find it on sale for much cheaper somewhere?

Doesn’t seem to be limited but also it’s kinda rare that these go HEAVILY on sale. I’ve been having luck with getimportCDs on eBay lately. They have been doing some buy 2 get 25% off sales. Their MSRP is a few bucks more than MoFi but free shipping and the 25% off brings them down to 48 or so
