Problem is there were three pressings around this time - one, the McMaster, is fantastic and a really good pressing, presumably RTI. The other two - same catalog number - were mastered at URP and pressed there too. Unfortunately.

Ah thanks! Hadn’t seen this. I still think it’s an AS pressing. Some of those others are listed in the press release as being AS (like Oliver Nelson) and that’s only $25 too.

ok maybe just dont trust this site for the date or the price..

because they also have the gil evans for 25 bucks and they say alice is coming in april but we have no proof and AS themselves say gil evans wont come out until may
 
I’m pretty sure all those impulse 60th releases listed at $24 preorder are just the digital cut represses. The AS Series ones are gonna be $35. It sounds like they are gonna do an AS Series Mingus though which is probably Black Saint & The Sinner Lady (which benefits greatly by being uninterrupted by flipping every 10 minutes). I have the AP 45 and SV pressings, but I’d still go in for a AAA 33 1/3 version. AP 45 is pretty awesome though , I don’t suspect it’s possible to beat the SQ of that .

100%. That video says nothing, except flipping through a bunch of covers. That Alice Coltrane, and others, were in that shit Vital Vinyl series.

The only one I see new in that video is Pharoah Sanders Karma, for which the tape is known to exist.

That pre-order website has two that are known to be in the AS series - the Rollins and Ray Charles.

Looks like AS will be re-doing some Vital Vinyl, but not all for sure.

Evans is probably the Vital Vinyl that already came out. I don’t see them reissuing another cheaper copy in addition to the AS one...and the Shepp on that site is probably also another recent reissue. Overall, impulse doesn’t seem to have their shit together or they just haven’t taken old stuff off their site.

I bet Chad will reissue some older cuts of some of these (that’s what the Getz Gilberto was) under the AS banner. Some were cut at 33 and 45 for AP but the 33s didn’t get released

Me too! My absolute favorite release of his. When I first heard those opening chords to Sick Of Myself, it was one of those life changers for me. Followed by Richard Lloyd just absolutely shredding the daylights out of the rest of the tune. I was HOOKED!
 
Very excited for McCoy Tyner’s Inception. My copy is an OG that’s probably a VG-, but just sounds so damn good that I keep playing it.

It's not gonna be $25 and released on April 8 if it's the Acoustic Sounds version. Either they are releasing two or they got than info wrong.

I saw him live in Toronto on the 100% Fun tour and he killed it, was an awesome show. Great... now I want that one too... DAMMIT.

They're all so good. Here's the killer for me - I got 100% Fun and Altered Beast autographed through a PledgeMusic campaign, and during the rollout of the releases, PledgeMusic went under. They apparently screwed both Intervention and Matthew himself on the deal. I managed to do a chargeback on my card and get compensation, but the real killer is that I wanted all 3 autographed! Girlfriend was the last one released, and it never ended up happening. Seriously wild experience.
