I'm too lazy to dig it out of the Kallax but oddly enough, it looks exactly like yours. Like someone lightly scribbled on it with a pocket knife :/
Yep! I really like that Mott The Hoople pressing. it's the only Drastic Plastic album I have but I need to go through their releases at some point and see what else they pressed that I might want.It might have come up when we were talking about Mike’s Drastic Plastic Mott The Hoople a few months back. This whole forum is on one giant loop anyway, we always eventually come back around![]()
Whenever you get a chance - no rush - I'd be curious to know if it's exactly the same (meaning this was on the stamper) or just the same type (meaning there was some junk packed in the sleeves causing the scribbling during travel). In a sense, something on the stamper is better news because you'd expect the represses to have addressed it. The other issue is more of a crapshoot.
Excellent! I eventually want a good copy. Will get Untitled Rise first though. I have it on order but the store hasn’t received the repress yet.I just checked mine. I have no visible gouges or scratches.

Another worthy title/pressing with KPG’s work (lacquer cutting) attached to it. Pressed at QRP.
These Impex/Three Blind Mice releases (particularly Blow Up) have been mentioned a bunch, so just a heads up that Elusive Disc has them in stock: Search Results

I just ordered Blow Up today. Along with the Earth, Wind and Fire. Pretty excited for these!
I think highly enough of Blow Up, in all respects, that I'm almost willing to personally offer a satisfaction guarantee.
I’m pretty jealous right now! Would love to have the box set. I was streaming Midnight Sugar this afternoon. So good!I spun Blow Up for the first time today and I was pretty blown away (yes, it was intended). So blown away, in fact, that I decided to shell out for the entire Three Blind Mice box set. I’ll just sell Blow Up individually later.
Highly recommend!
Thanks for the heads up!
Ditto the 2009 Rhino reissue of Ladies of the Canyon. If you’re looking for a lovely copy of Joni Mitchell’s Court & Spark, the 2009 Rhino reissue is fantastic. Lacquers cut by Bellman and mastering by Grundman. Pressed at RTI.

Is anyone considering this? I don’t know much about any of these tracks but figure it could be enjoyable given I don’t really have anything like this in my collection...

The Fukui titles are great.
The Fukui titles are great.
I think I remember you mentioning that you have the 33 Time out? You'll have to let me know how the 45 Time Out compares to the 33
edit - is there a hidden message to dayMather with 'Fukui twice' & I need more 'Time Out'?
I personally don’t get the Ryo hype. I mean I understand it was mostly YouTube algorithms that initially popularized em and the Scenery artwork is kinda cool but there are IMO lots more interesting/better Jazz pianists. I am not saying he’s bad it just all seems completely average. If I am reaching for a piano based jazz album on my shelf this would not be something I would reach for often, if ever. It feels like it’s jazz piano album for people that have never heard of Evans or Correa or Hancock or Monk or Hines, etc... and maybe it works a gateway for other better artists and if that is the case I guess that’s good. It just feels kinda basic.
I agree with ya. Ryo is...fine. It's nice to listen to. Not particular inventive and definitely not a top jazz pianist for me either. I own 3 of the Ryo pressings now. They do sound real nice but I also don't find myself reaching for them to play them much.I personally don’t get the Ryo hype. Sorry, this rant is brought to you by the internet as a whole and not directed specifically at you, Mather. I hope your new records are as flat as a board and play flawlessly.
