Definitive Audiophile pressings

No charge on my end right now, and I have Coltrane/Red Garland, Informal Jazz, and Relaxin (among many others) on backorder. Hmm...
I cancelled Relaxin this morning, but I ordered Informal Jazz and Coltrane back in December and Red Garland/Coltrane in Feb, so maybe it's not the full represses yet if you ordered after me?

Anybody pull the trigger on the Mingus Trio 2 disc remaster who can comment?
Didn't buy it but was also interested in this...asked around and apparently deadwax has no indication of who cut it--just two sets of numbers...so assuming this is a generic cut done in-house at a plant sadly.

What kinda damage we talkin'?
$50+ just in duty and bullshit brokerage fees. Thing is it really just raises the cost to what the price would be in store after taxes up here.

But my second shipment is gunna be WAY more expensive than up here. But the Rumours 45 isn't up here at all. Neither is the UHQR or the Hopkins Goin'Away... So it's the cost of doing business...

Well if it helps….the Fleetwood Mac and Goin Away are both awesome sounding. I think I paid 60 or 70 for Goin Away right before the repress was announced and I don’t regret it at all

Yeah totally. Of the 4 things I ordered over the two shipments, 3 of the 4 aren't up here. So it's kinda just what you gotta do sometimes. And they're all fire.

It's the only way to look at it really. Sometimes you get a deal and others an anti-deal. If it's a record you love, just roll with it and erase it from memory and all is good. Well, until you do it again because you forgot.

I think nearly everybody has cut this album now haha. BG cut it in 2016, RKS cut it for VMP and now Bellers I guess. I don't know that Bellman has done it before and he isn't even listed in the deadwax or anything on discog for the RSD version from what I can see.
Nearly everybody, but not a certain somebody

Just for shits and giggles, here's the actual breakdown:

Canada GST $7.81
Disbursement Fee $10.00
HST on Dirbursement Fee $5.07
Clearance Entry Fee $29.00
Total $51.88

On a declared value of US$125.00 (about $160 canadian these days)

I'm not complaining though. Just rolling with it. It was part of the gamble when I placed the order to begin with. As I was telling @Mather earlier, I'll just consider it a bit of payback for all of the times (like 99%+) when I pay nothing. Just sucks it's Fedex getting it instead of Canada Post.

That hurts. FedEx collecting about $40 just to collect $8 in taxes on the records. I just wish more places in the US allowed you to choose USPS for shipping because Canada Posts does not give a fuck to collect GST.
