Definitive Audiophile pressings

Oh great, they’ll also be pressing a 2xLP 45RPM version of Thriller according to this article.

Good lord, this is getting comical. It makes me not want to buy anymore one steps.

I’d prefer they do 33 and 45 versions for most one steps to be honest…I’d probably go for the 33s and save a little money if it’s a title I like. Or better yet a 33 supervinyl and a 45 one step

Here is the MD link.
"Given that no album released during the past four decades even approaches the magnitude of Thriller"

Man the frothy mouthed write ups on these releases are so absurdly comical at this point, they've almost reached the point of parody.

Just talking about the man's discography, I've always preferred Bad.

Interestingly seems like the 33 one steps will have a different box:

Housed in an open-ended slipcase, the set features a special foil-stamped jacket and faithful-to-the-original graphics that illuminate the splendor of the recording.

If it's an actual jacket this would be so much better. I hope they do the same with Bitches Brew.

Did you ever read the write-ups at the Dusty Grooves store? Every damn release had a hyperbolic description it basically became a parody of itself. I'm not sure if they still do that. Great store though.

I always have a chuckle when I see a review from this guy on discogs, Usually I'm quite drunk atto time. Mofi should hire him

I had a Jackson Five 8-track tape in grade school. I’ll give Thriller a shot on the treadmill today but I reserve the right to switch over to Tool b4 my 3mi is up. :).

Update: Not the aerobic workout music I would expect. I only made it thru Baby Be Mine b4 moving on to the comforting drone of Fear Inoculum. Other than hearing the hits on background radio can’t say I’ve ever listened to this as an album or other MJ. I’ll give it another go b4 the MoFi comes out. It does sound like it may potentially be a good pop recording from an audio perspective and hype aside Thriller did make quite an impact given its sales #s. Sad he was such a damaged individual/child molester. Tarnishes a pretty solid musical legacy.

I find starting the workout with Sober is a good table setter, followed immediately by Hooker with Penis to block out the initial "why the fuck am I doing this to myself" thoughts. There's always non-Tool sonic motivation after that - but Stinkfist is always a great mid-workout motivator and I like to end it with Aenema, especially if its cardio. For some reason that "Hey hey hey hey..." intro and the mid-song lull that builds to the end just kicks the adrenaline into high gear for me.

I just listen to Jackson Five "ABC" on constant repeat with a giant psychotic smile on my face until everyone else leaves the gym and then I have the place to myself until the police arrive.
