which '79 pressing did you get? i have this one and think its sounds incredible. i do not have the BG though but I have a UK original and think the japanese is on par or slightly better than the 1st UK.

Yep that's the one, it does sound great. But so does the BG in this case.

I'm pretty surprised by that to be honest! Maybe the BG punches far above its weight then. I've considered selling my UK 1st but I got it for free from my father in law so will likely keep both. and i paid about the same for the japanese as i would have for the BG.

We've both been drinking PF kool-aid lately.

BG cuts are hard to beat.

I pivoted with The Wall and purchased a US 1st pressing (NM). I read the TML stampings are the "one".

As a matter of fact, it just hit the door step today.
Dropping it in the US now to spin later today.

I went through two BGs in order to get a listenable one. It's still slightly pressed off centre and has tics here and there.

I'm still going back and forth between the 79 and the BG. Some songs are better on the 79, more open, less veiled. But also being a 79 it's got it's own tics and pops here and there, so I guess it just comes down to how much of that I can put up with... But in general I gotta say the BG holds up well with this one, compared to some of the others...

I have the same 79 as Mike, on OG UK, OG US, and BG. On my system I think the OG US is best, closely followed by the UK and Japanese. Those two are close…
 
I tried buying Eric Clapton's Unplugged from them. After not receiving communication from them a week from sending payment, I reached out and told me my order was still processing. A few days later I received another email saying they canceled my order since they didn't have the item in stock after all.

was it a good deal on Clapton unplugged? or could you not find it anywhere else?

they are definitely not the best seller but could be worth taking a punt on vs the resale prices elsewhere.
 
I forget the price but I was disappointed with the lack of communication and cancellation. That Jeff Beck does seem to be a good deal, though.

Yeah I gotta do a few more cleans to see if I can remove a few of the pops. I went back and did a proper side by side with the BG today and the JP does win on most but not all tracks, but again... how many tics doi want to deal with... unsure.
