Definitive Audiophile pressings

I might pick up a copy of the hurting then. I've dithered on both of those titles

this is the one I have
Spinning my copy of the Hurting now, sounds great to me

Yeah the box sets were all AAA. The first 3 and a bit anyway. I don’t know if the late 80s and early 90s stuff was recorded on tape or digitally. It’s what caused the dip in volume that was the error with Heroes in box 3. After the complaints they went back and digitally fixed it for the replacement disc.
How can I tell if I have the original or corrected Heroes in my box? Only by listening?

This all gets back to the REAL football logic.
Punt the ball to the other team. Don't go for a 1st down when it's 4th down.

I think it’s also used in our football, punt would be a long, aimless kick upfield so that kinda translates to taking a chance or placing a bet.

Edit: although scratch that the dictionary says it came from the French “ponte” which it seems to say has some kinda of gambling connotation in terms of acting against the bank.

This is why I come to N&G, hot etymological talk on regional slang

A bit of a busman’s holiday for a librarian I suppose!
Definitely love hearing how slang came into common parlance. Especially when is has a very different meaning somewhere else
