Definitive Audiophile pressings

The entire Smiths reissue collection after Johnny Marr remastered them are all Rhinos and all sound wonderful too.

Depeche Mode, too? Pretty sure those are Rhino. Was just spinning Black Celebration, it sounds great.

I enjoy the reissues for The Replacement albums as well, all of which are Rhino I believe (I have Tim, Let It Be, Live at Maxwell's and Pleased To Meet Me). The MC5 Kick Out The Jams sounds excellent considering that the source is a live recording (plus it's the uncensored version). The Grateful Dead 50th of Workingman and American Beauty are also wonderful. These are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

I believe @MikeH recommended this KG Rhino AAA cut in the Newbury sale. Arrived yesterday and boy it sounds fantastic! Great record. Thanks for the rec!

Glad you like it! I’m pretty shocked this one is still available at places. It’s a really good album and awesome pressing and I think was pretty limited. I thought for sure this one would be hard to track down.

This is a good reminder to spin it again though! I spun it pretty much nonstop the week after RSD.

Damn, I'm going to have to look this up. I dove deep into soul records over the years and I didn't know this one. Streaming now and it's totally up my alley.

EDIT: I just realized I know one of the tracks from a Jazz Dispensary compilation I have.

I agree on the Replacements reissues and Grateful Dead, I really like their Flaming Lips Transmissions From The Satellite Heart, Golden Smog Weird Tales, Their John Prine reissues, Pantera, The Stooges, Tom Petty, Televison, Rhino has done lots of excellent releases the biggest issue is you usually never know what your getting until it’s released and in hand.

Oh yeah, I have several of those too - and you're giving me more ideas (damn you). Probably the biggest issue is the location of the pressings because the mastering / cutting is usually on point (and as we all know they often also use one of the big 4).

Late to the party, but I'm an Eagles fan. I grew up with them as my parents favorite band. They were always really catchy and harmless that they weren't anything to rebel against growing up. Not like when I'd tell my mom how much Michael Bolton sucked over and over again to make her mad. But even now, I can enjoy some Eagles.

My Mom is a diehard Eagles fan. (boomer)

I can still remember the day she found my Eazy-E tapes... I've come around to the Eagles more now that I am older. LoL

we were talking about ROG pressings earlier...this one was just announced i think

I mean, I saw STP on the Core tour back in the day, people were jumping off the balcony of the Masonic Temple where they were playing, and even I don't really think we need 4 discs of Core.
