Just played Star Wars Squadrons in VR and holllly... sitting in a Tie and looking around and then flying out if the Star Destroyer hanger was something else... It's crazy claustrophobic inside a Tie, crazy small little pod, so cool.

Dark Souls update time! I grinded out some Titanite shards to get my mace to +14 and beat the four kings. Decided to head down to lava town, and beat the Ceaseless Discharge (grossest boss name so far). Went down into the lower levels and thought that the demons here were going to be horrible, but 30 strength and a +14 mace meant it took 3 hits two handed to end each demon. Seeing Capra demons as regular enemies was also scary until I realized how much stronger I am now. I'm outside a fog wall now, which I assume is a boss fight, but I dealt with the weapon killing worms and repaired my mace twice before going to bed. Guess I'll find out what's behind that wall next time.

Also, quick Isaac note. I had a run earlier today that I can only call Captain Caveman. I was playing as the forgotten, and through a combo of Cricket's Head, Sacred Heart, Polyphemus, and Proptosis, as well as several size down pills, I had a small character with a giant club and my damage was at 194. For those not in the know, the starting damage is 3.5, and I personally consider getting up to 10 by the end "good enough." So I was basically walking around bonking everything in one shot. I killed Blue Baby in one swing (I think a fly helped). Sadly, I'm trying to get Delirium, but didn't get it to show. On the plus side, I finally got lucky enough in the shop to finally get the three battery items needed for that achievement, so I think I'm at <50 achievements left now (most are tied to greedier mode).

I don't have VR, but I am VERY curious about this game. The old Rogue Squadron games were some of my favorites.

Meanwhile, I just finished Doom (yes I'm way late). Really enjoyed the frantic fight sequences, although they got a bit repetitive.

I also downloaded Zoo Tycoon for XBONE as something I can play with the sound off while I listen to records. FInished all the tutorials last night.

And the new Crash Bandicoot is out, which means my wife will be hogging my xbox for the forseeable future.

The PSVR is very fun but it's too blurry for me to play through the whole game like that. The graphics on this game are pretty fantastic and the PSVR really doesn't show them off all that well so I'm kinda playing the missions twice in some cases in order to have the VR fun but still enjoy the great graphics. The campaign is only about 8 hours long but it's heaven for someone like me that loved XWing on PC back in the day. I'm not sure how much of the multiplayer I'll do, I don't really like online multiplayer at all generally so I'll likely avoid it.

I recently saw a twitter thread re: Hades asking how many runs it took before completing the game. Most people averaged between 15-20. Though I imagine you're only getting people who'd brag about how quick they were, I'm still over here on run 45 or so, inching towards the end. 😓

Finally finished bioshock

Still a masterpiece

I might like infinite a little more
Its been so long it is harder for me to judge the stories. I remember being a little less impressed with the story on Infinite but Infinite may have been the most fun to play? Hard to rank without playing them all again though. Really great games.

I remember blasting through Infinite in a single weekend. It was a lot of fun and the story was good, but I remember feeling like the gameplay never opened up; it always felt like I was on a defined path at a defined pace, if that makes any sense. Whereas the og Bioshock had some real fun action, and you definitely felt a sense of progression in your powers. I just remember that one room where the Nutcracker Suite is playing and hordes of maniacs are running at you...good times.

Started playing Torchlight 3.

Still figuring it out some with what skills make a good build, but it's fun so far. I've enjoyed the previous 2 in the series.
I've heard mixed reviews on this one. I played the previous two and they were fun enough. I thought I read something about microtransactions?

I see a lot of people with the opinion that Infinite is their favorite Bioshock game but I didn't like it as much as 1 and 2. To be fair, I played them all late last year and earlier this year for the first time so idk if they were differently recieved games around the release dates.

I agree! I was so disappointed with Infinite because it was too linear and I was basically done with the game in 7 hours. I remember checking my play time and it was so low compared to at least 20 hours with the other two games.

I'd have to rank em 1 > 2 > Infinite. I liked the story in 1 the most, plus it felt new and fresh, not too many weapons and was decently challenging. 2 was a classic sequel with slight improvements on attributes and plasmids. I also didn't like how Bioshock 2 had improvements on each plasmid up to a third tier, but by the time you got to that third tier the game was basically over and you couldn't really use those plasmid for longer periods of the game.

I think I'm more into infinite because of its less RPG elements (pick 2 weapons and fight these enemies). And I going the story very provocative if just for the ending and the parallel universe ideas. it was fun to explore and shoot and the more streamlined nature worked for me

I think I might have just enjoyed a more linear experience, the story drew me in anyway

I don't even use my plasmids or vigors that much (why use ice when you won't be able to loot, hypnotize big daddy doesn't work when you kill most of them to save the little sisters, I really only used telekinesis twice). For every occasion in the games I went for the up close and personal shooter type (halo style I guess but I never played halo). Maybe the RPG shooter isn't for me and I'm more casual guns blazing

This may have been something from when it was an Free To Play MMO in early development - but they changed it to a regular game. I haven't seen anything about microtransactions while playing it.
