Yes, it does seem very premature. Microsoft is committed to keeping games available on the PlayStation through existing agreements and beyond. So to me that says if it becomes an issue, it will be on the next gen platforms. The PS5 should not feel an impact.

I suspect most games will continue to be on multiple platforms. Call of Duty is really the only game that comes to mind that is at risk of becoming of Xbox exclusive at some point.
 
GameStop just notified me that my card was declined and I need to update my payment method before Horizon Forbidden West Collectors Edition ships.

Looked up card, available credit and info entered all looks good. So I'm assuming fraud protection kicked in even though I didn't get any notification from Chase.

It declined again trying to put it through so I put it on my debit card.

Hope this doesn't delay me getting the game this weekend. But I have a feeling it may.
 
And my Bank just sent me a Fraud Alert text about the charge from GameStop asking me if this is a valid purchase. And if yes to run my card through again.

I said yes, and got a thanks for confirming. You may continue to use your card text.

Waiting on GameStop to tell me I was declined again. lol

Gamepass and/or series S would be the smarter choice here. Even if MS does make all those games exclusive there are too many good PS titles to miss out on.

does he have the capacity to just.... keep both? Lots of people have both to play exclusives for each console. Honestly, I would if I had the disposable income and/or space to get a PS5, but it's kind of ridiculous to have 2.

I don't think he wants 2 consoles.

And I don't blame him. I don't have space for 2 at my one TV. I am also already playing musical HDMI cables as my tv only has two HDMI inputs. So I rarely use the switch dock anymore and just play that handheld. I don't like trying to find the HDMI cable behind the entertainment system and trying to hook it back up everytime I want to switch between consoles.

I used to have a HDMI switch. It was great for a couple years and then it stopped wanting to change inputs and is more of a pain to fight with than anything else. It also doesn't support 4K so I would need to upgrade it anyways to use with the PS5

This might just be the kick in the pants I need to finally buy up all those Virtual Console games for Wii U I've had on my wishlist for ages. With a Scrooge McDuck pile of eShop money to spend, I can kick it on old GBA and N64 games for a while.
 
Porcupine Tree during Control's credits was a pleasant surprise! Yet another reason this game is so up my alley.

I'm now ~2/3 through The Foundation expansion, so I'll probably be fully done tonight. Gotta make space for Horizon on Friday! My Gamestop charge went through, but still no shipping notice. Hope it arrives in time.

 
So the new Cyberpunk next gen update... Man does it look good now. Still ABSOLUTELY janky as fuck but if you're facing the right direction, at the right time, and no cars spontaneously explode while NPCs walk through walls during this moment... it looks very good.

Wowowow! My SO just shared the trailer for the new Magic: The Gathering expansion, and they're going full anime! Even got a song from anime opening maestro TK (from Ling Tosite Sigure) as a duet with Koshi Inaba (from rock duo B'z)!

Well, assuming you're talking about the cars and people all disappearing. If you're talking about some other antiquated videogame system that hasn't been seen since 1990, then it may still be in there.

I was partially talking about the people disappearing and but also skeptical that things wouldn't spontaneously combust

That may still happen. To be perfectly honest I was not aware that quick turning spontaneous combustion was a thing. But that's kind of exciting.

The very first cutscene where I saved the women in the bathtub in the tutorial mission my character got stuck in a sitting pose and was "walking"around cross legged floating in the air for like five minutes.
Sooooo, yeah it's still effed. But it's purdy now.

wii-u virtual console will probably be fine in the end, it’s looking like the switch will most likely be caught up with porting everything else missing in the next years,

the real tragedy imo are the 3ds games, those are all sold out physically now, and unlike everything else on the wii u, they cant be ported over to the switch. once the 3ds eshop closes down, all those games will become lost media

Some of them will be lost, but I think a good majority of them (or the worthwhile ones at least) will have a home on piracy sites. The most reliable archivists in our increasingly digital time.
 
Lost Ark is like a janky Diablo Phantasy Star Online mash-up. The UI and copious forms of currency are atrocious, I'm level 24 and all my gear looks EXACTLY THE SAME as when I started, save my shirt is now red instead of white.

It's free though, and shooting everything on the screen as a gunner is fun.
 
Bit the bullet and finally ordered a physical copy of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 for almost $70. I’ve been hesitant because of the cost and also the amount of time I’m likely to sink into it… but the allure of XC3 on the horizon plus a gorgeous soundtrack made me do it. Guessing this will be my self-medication through this spring and summer.
